Figure News; Mikuru gets another pvc, and Siesta is finally up for order.

Posted under Figures

A new figure was announced, Alter is releasing another figure from the ever so popular Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu. This time it’s Mikuru, I’m not exactly sure If I’ll get her but I will be pre-ordering her. It’s refreshing to see a face on a Mikuru figure that is not either horrendously off compared to her anime counterpart, or the face of the Max Factory Mikuru where she doesn’t seem to be having much fun. I will just say that I honestly would have preferred to have one of her in her seifuku but it is refreshing to see her in anything thing other than the usual Mikuru Beam~ ep 13 outfit she wears. She’ll be released this June for about 5,177 yen, so since I’ve only got Siesta set for a June release I’m not too worried about having too many figures for that month. My usual limit is 3 a month, unless I get some extra moneys for the month then it’s more, but I try and keep my average at 3-a-month. Continue Reading »

Where do you read manga?

Posted under Anime/Manga

Now while this would seem more like a question as to how you read manga, as in online or if you buy it, it’s not. This is a simple question of where in your home, school, bus, work, everywhere do you like to read manga the most. Now I know this would eliminate half of our answers since I know lots of people download manga and or read them online, I however am not one of them. My purchasing of manga and figures is how I honestly support the industry. Anime is too expensive, I don’t have any more walls for posters or wallscrolls, why buy plushies for $20 when I can get a figure for $40. I do occasionally buy art books, but it’s a rarity.

Country Road - Whisper of the Heart

Posted under Anime/Manga

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqE7WBG_p8Q]

I just saw for the first time Whisper of the Heart, and this is one scene that just touched me. I don’t even really like the song that much, and Youko Honna’s vocals weren’t astounding, but something about it just was beautiful.

Something about the movie had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. it’s one of those rare anime that has me talking back to my monitor, smiling, gasping, laughing out loud, and just overall enjoying this movie.

I did get a job the other day, i’ll be working in a hospital taking pictures of newborn babies, got my TB and everything. So once I start making a steady income I know I’m gonna have to buy this movie. It’s one of the rare movies/anime that I want to watch over and over again.

Gurren Lagann Posters Super Popular!

Posted under Anime Merchandise/Ebay & Anime/Manga

As some of you may have read in the past i’ve opened up my own ebay store. I sell high quality reprints of posters, plushies, figures, used video games and other random stuff i need to get rid off. Well today I sold a figure and 4 Gurren Lagann posters. Well i’ve noticed a trend, my Gurren Lagann posters are my best selling items. People are just clamoring over these babies. I’m excited of this boom in business, I’ve been in need of money since I still can’t find a job. I did mention that I found one but it did turn out to be a scam, I googled the supposed owners name and found out he doesn’t exsist and it’s all a pyramid scheme. Good thing I didn’t get involved with these people, I might have ended up badly in debt. :(
Now does anyone have any good recomendations for more posters? Not something you’d like to see but something you’d totally buy! Like super popular series that doesn’t have enough merchandise. Plus i also take requests, message me @ with any comments or questions concerning posters and requests.

In case you missed the 9 million links on this post there is also a picture link on the top right of the column on this page to my eBay store!

Mexico has good taste in Anime

Posted under Anime/Manga

So this weekend it was my aunt’s 50th birthday, so what did we do? My mom and I jumped on a plane and flew out to Mexico City for 2 days to surprise her for her birthday! I can’t go too of topic here so i’ll get to the point. My cousin decided to take me out on Sunday night, we went into a this one shop that sold magazines. Well of course I went looking for any that might have any bit of anime info in Mexico. I know that it’s not as popular there as it is in the U.S. right now, not thats it’s super popular here, but it has a decent following. Well in this store I did find one magazine that caught my eye. On the cover it had Maison Ikkoku, with the subtitles being “Un clásico que jamas pasará de moda.” Which roughly translates into “A classic that will never go out of style”

Excuse my horrible picture taking, I would have bought it but i had no money on me at the time.

There was another magazine that didn’t have plastic on that that I looked through but it had tons of old info and bad cosplayers. One girl doing a cosplay of the Fewture models Chii figure. I think the worst part wasn’t that I recognized her as a Chii cosplayer even though it had no caption as to who she was cosplaying, but more as I recognized her doing the figure cosplay. It was an eventful trip and I will say that I will never ever in my life complain of California traffic again in my life. I’ve never seen such crazy driving, it’s like stop signs and red lights mean nothing to them!

Update: 1-22-08
technically it’s Spain that has good taste, i’ve been informed by kanami that it’s not a Mexican publication but a Spanish one.

Kotobukiya Tabitha

Posted under Figures

Finally some side characters of Zero no Tsukaima. Now I know I’m crazy but sometimes i do prefer figures of side characters to the actual main character. Reason being that they don’t always get all the love.

Max Factory Lelouch Figma

Posted under Figures

Max Factory has done it again, they’ve released another Figma figure. I will say after seeing it in action I did kinda want one. But then I still would prefer a stable PVC figure over Joints. Now I will totally admit that Lulu does look pretty darn awesome I’m not exactly sure if I’m willing to shell out 2,500 yen for another action figure.

Uverworld - Proglution

Posted under Music

My love for UVERworld just grows and grows. This new album Proglution has pretty much more of what UVERworld is good at, their typical rock songs with a bit of Takuya rapping. His vocals are amazing he really makes UVERworld work. Here are some of the PVs from the past singles that are on this album.
