Alpha Tetsuo Review

I'm a huge fan of Akira, and when I first started collecting figures one of the first figures I got was Alpha's Kaneda. The one of him sitting on the red chair. Ever since I got him I wanted the Tetsuo to match, but haven't had the chance to get him. I spotted him once at a con for $40 which wasn't a… [more]

KyoAni’s Nagato Yuki Review

Kyo-Ani's first step into making anime figures was such a lovely success. When Yuki was first announced I was apprehensive on getting her since Kyo-ani never made any figures before. It seems from their recent releases of K-on figures that this first beautiful release was a fluke since those suck,… [more]

Where do you read manga?

Now while this would seem more like a question as to how you read manga, as in online or if you buy it, it’s not. This is a simple question of where in your home, school, bus, work, everywhere do you like to read manga the most. Now I know this would eliminate half of our answers since I know lots of people download manga and or read them online, I however am not one of them. My purchasing of manga and figures is how I honestly support the industry. Anime is too expensive, I don’t have any more walls for posters or wallscrolls, why buy plushies for $20 when I can get a figure for $40. I do occasionally buy art books, but it’s a rarity.

Now in my case I have one spot that I love to read manga in. In my house while reading is encouraged, it’s hard to find a moment to yourself. If I am laying in my bed reading, sitting on the couch, sitting in the patio, ect. I get asked to do something else instead, like clean (what am I Cinderella?).

Now in my house there is only one place that is guaranteed to give you the utmost privacy, one place where I could be in for hours without hearing someone banging on the door, without someone asking me to help cook, clean, sew, clean the chimney, clean the stairs, help little mice sew a fancy dress and so and so forth. Where is the miraculous place? Well It’s also honestly the cleanest place in my house, I can’t live if this one area in my home isn’t clean so don’t worry about sanitation. Ok have’t guessed it yet? Ok here it is.

Yes you guessed it, my bathroom. On the can is the one place where I am never bothered. Lucky me this house has three bathrooms and with only three people living here it’s my own personal bathroom. No one else but me uses it! I love reading manga, books, magazines, and such in the bathroom. I’m never bothered, and reading in the bathroom also helps me keep my mind fresh while I do some heavy pushing

Currently I’m reading some of the older manga that I’ve got. My collection of manga is not just my own but my brother’s as well. Since we both read manga why buy two of the same book, and since I have a tendency to re-read manga while my brother will read it once and forget it I keep the collection at home. Well since the lack of money on my part I’ve been reading some of the manga that he’s bought over the years. Currently I’m reading book 7 of Hyper Police.

It’s interesting, not the greatest. Lots of blatent fan service, the story just seems random. One character was shot with some sort of magic bullet; she then lost all of her magic and turned into an old woman. We then got only a few pages on wondering how they will heal her, but then they just forgot about it. Then it looks like they remembered and just magically turned her back without giving a proper explanation. But it’s something to do while on the can, so I keep reading it. Plus since I didn’t buy it it doesn’t really matter if it’s all that great or not.

If I ever start reading manga, the best place for me will be on the train going to work. But at times, its usually not the quietest place at all.
Is it just me or am i one of those few rare ppl out there who loves anime but haven’t read a single manga in their life?

  2. PQQ says:

The bus, because it takes roughly the same amount of time to read one volume per trip. Other than that, home is nice

Where do I read my manga? Anywhere, it seems.

I don’t really have “a place to must read my manga” rule, but as a general guideline, I avoid being spotted reading them by my family (except my brother, since the whole family never knew I bought my hard-earned money on manga!).

Elsewhere, it’s in the trains or in the buses. Keeps my mind off from sleeping. If any consolation, people will be asking, “Where the hell do I get so much money from?”

I normally read manga in my room, with a cup of tea, and no one else at home.

    Heavenly…

I mosty read manga in my room. It’s either on my desk or in my bed. I try to limit by bed reading since I don’t want to fall asleep, but it’s so comfortable!

I’m prone to getting neck cramps from reading too much manga, though T_T

I can’t say that I have one specific place where I read Manga. I read a lot on my bed, but today I read the latest Hunter X Hunter, which I bought during my lunch hour, on the bus ride home. As long as I have a volume or two, some free time, and a spot to plant my butt, I’ll read Manga.

I have two spots where I like to read my manga: on the bus to and from school, and in bed, propped up against my headboard with pillows.
