Max Factory Fauna

Posted under Figures

Max factory 1/8 Fauna, the latest addition to my ever growing collection and my first figure purchase of 2008. Fauna is absolutely breathtaking, her paint is exquisite, her pose is vibrant, she’s absolutely perfect.

The Following pictures are not work safe!
I know some complain about her dress and it being difficult to remove, I’ve had no problems removing her dress, maybe it’s cause I’m a girl and I take my clothes off everyday so I know how to. Not that I take my clothes off for a living, ^_~ But seriously maybe its cause I have smaller hands, but it’s seems pretty simple to play cast off.

She’s a definite buy, a must have for any figure collector. I try and keep by a rule of only buying figures of characters I like and Anime I’ve seen. Fauna is the exception and I don’t regret that one bit. These are the shots of the scenery today. This is the hill right behind my house, I went hiking for a bit looking for the perfect spot to do a photo shoot. I came across this beautiful little flower bed of these white flowers and I just knew they would be perfect for fauna and her white dress.

As some of you may know, I’ve been dying for the Max Factory fauna for a while now. I missed the pre-orders on her and when disaster struck and I lot my job I wasn’t going to be able to get her for December. When play-asia canceled my order I decided that maybe I’ll just use that money and get my Fauna instead. But when I calculated Shipping plus the actual cost of the figure from HLJ, she was about $88. I was starting to feel unsure on whether I wanted to spend that much on a figure, considering that I’ve been broke for some time. Well that weekend my boyfriend and I made a trip out to Los Angles to visit a friend of mine who is able to get us discounts in video games. We planned on getting rock band for the Xbox 360 by turning in a few of our games that we had already played and beaten. So we drove over to a mall, and inside the mall is this anime store. First thing my friend mentions is that they are way overpriced but it’s nice to just look around. Well after we go and trade out games at game stop and get rock band we go to this anime store on our way out of the mall. Now I have no idea where my friend got the idea that this store was overpriced. They had some amazing figures at about retail price or lower. Maybe the anime DVDs were much more expensive but I didn’t even look really since the figures were my main concern. I noticed in the back corner, there was a small table with a few figures stacked up in a pyramid. Who is at the top of this pyramid? None other than the Max Factory Fauna, plus with a price of only $79, I had to have her.

You can still get your own at some at HLJ, at least when I’m posting this she’s still in stock. Oh if anyone likes as well the anime store I found her in is Power Anime. They have a website at Poweranime.com

Edit: I’m assuming everyone is just being sarcastic, but this isn’t my backyard, just the hills right behind my house. My dad installed a gate in the back fence when we moved in since they guaranteed us that no houses will be constructed behind us. I actually was going to go higher to a patch of orange flowers I saw higher up on the mountain, but when I got to this smaller patch of white flowers I knew it was perfect. I’m going to go up to the orange flowers for when i get my Max Factory 1/8 Makoto. Since the orange will be amazing with her hair, I’ll take pictures of my actual house from the top of the hill, it’s an amazing view.

Damn that’s a large backyard, lol. Fauna is definitely a lovely figure, yet I don’t own one. Oh well.

Awesome. And since she’s running through the hills I’m imagining her singing the Sound of Music song. Anyway, that’s like a perfect setting for the figure.

Woho woho whohoho!! Oh my… that’s just FAN-TA-STIC!
I wish there was such a lovely place not too far from where I live, to go and take as beautiful pictures as you did.
That just suits this Fauna figure perfectly.
    Excellent work!

[...] wild flowers don’t last. But I had even better luck, where all the white flowers had been in Fauna’s shoot, they had been overtaken by yellow flowers. So I went out and did another shoot, as you can see [...]

[...] Max Factory 1/8 Fauna I had been dying to own this figure since her release back in December. I have a strict rule of only buying figures from series i have seen/liked. It’s my best way to avoid getting too many figures on impulse. I have to honestly say i wanted her solely for the castoff feature. But she is an absolutely beautiful figure, and i’m glad i was able to add her to my collection. Technically she was an impulse buy as well, but a well thought out impulse buy. I was about to buy her online from HLJ when we drove up to LA to visit a friend, we then went to a local mall and walked into an anime store and they had Fauna. I just had to have her, plus the fact that if i got her from HLJ shipping would have made it so much more expensive and this way i avoided the shipping costs… [...]
