Yamato turns it around with Knee Socks

I haven't been a fan of Yamato's work for quite some time. When I first started collecting figures they were more readily available and I owned a few but after I started finding better quality pieces I sold them all since they were so horrible. I haven't bought a Yamato figure in so many years but recently… [more]

Yoko in a Little Moda Dress

One of the awesome things I love about Etsy is fniding other talented people who make amazing things you end up buying. One thing I spotted was this adorable dress for a Dollfie Dream. But Alas since Yoko is such a busty girl it's hard to find outfits that fit her and I almost passed. That was until… [more]

Ramen Revolution Live Taping!

So today i was dragged out Invited by my dear friend Benu of Anime Genesis to see a live taping of Ramen Revolution! He was a guest host and was interviewed on the show as well. I have to say i went with very very very very very low expectations of this show. I was expecting crap with crap and fanboys/girls mixed in to make Televised crap. I was seriously surprised at how much i was entertained. This was a good show! While we could obviously see that the quality of the production was low since there is no sponsorship and no funding. But i have to say there were parts where i was rolling my eyes, not at the actual show but the audience.
Now i don’t want to bash this show in any way shape or form. They actual show was good, the bands were pretty good, the skits were funny, and they did a really good job. But the audience sadly killed it. While some people were awesome in the audience and participated and behaved themselves, this one kid who sat in front of me was so annoying and creepy. No, creepy is an understatement, but i can’t think of any other word than creepy to describe him. He would just turn around and ask us the strangest questions, or jump into out conversations and put in his two cents. I’m sorry but thats not trying to be social, thats plain rude. Now during intermission I met up with Benu and I met fellow anime blogger/podcaster Mike from Anime Diet. Now after intermission was over we all went and sat down together since Benu was done with his portion of the show, and this kid who conveniently sat in front of me again just kept interrupting us in our conversation. We were talking about blogging, anime and figures and this kid turns to us and goes “Do you like Star Trek? Cause i do!” then turned back around. It was random and rude, i don’t know if he was trying to be funny or creepy but he got more of a creepy vibe from me than anything else.

Well back to talking about the show and less audience bashing, the show was well done. For special guests they had Stephanie Yanez (AX Idol Winner), Benu of course, Makenai (an anime cover band), and L2D. I’m not a fan of Stephanie Yanez, i think she’s a mediocre singer and kinda annoying. Benu was awesome! Makenai was actually really good, i was surprised at their stage presence and their singing ability. When they started sining Rose by Anna Tsuchiya i was ready to hear them butcher her awesome song and they did it justice and added their own awesome flare. And lastly L2d was kinda lame, i’m not a fan of the style and they didn’t have much of a stage presence as Makenai. Ramen Revolution also does some skits and they were actually really funny, i was actually laughing really hard during the skits. They are supposed to be putting up each episode online after it airs on TV so once they upload it online i’ll put a link here for you guys! Honestly if you guys live in the Southern California area it’s awesome and worth a visit. They gave out free prizes and also have some vendors there as well. Just go to www.ramenrevolution.com for more info and details there!

I leave you with a parting gift, Here is in order from left to right. Mike from Anime Diet, Benu with a handless Haruhi from Anime Genesis, and Your’s truly.

    Whoa! My bandmate was browsing around looking for more info about Ramen Revolution and came upon this nice website of yours. I’m Angel, guitarist from Makenai. Thanks for liking our performance. We appreciate that you appreciated! We couldn’t hear ourselves very much on stage and we were worried about how we sounded but it’s great that it sounded OK to the audience. Hope we get invited again!!! Thanks so much.

    I was at ramen revolution and loved it! I like your review! Although I do NOT agree with you about Stephanie Yanez. I think she is very talented and really cute! I mean that was an original song that she performed. Where all other guests were just doing covers.

    @sarah:
    I have to disagrree with you, Stephanie is an annoying talentless hack. She is a terrible singer and is annoying and a bitch to boot. and L@D from what i remember also played their own songs. She may have sang an original song but it was terrible compared to how awesome Makenai was.

    I work for RR and appreciate the comments. I thought everyone was great. No one could play at their top level espeically the second half due to the air conditioning being broke and half the audeince leaving because of the heat. Under the circumstances, i thought Stephaine had great energy and a good voice.

    I haven’t forgotten about this post, sorry for taking so long! I totally remember the guy you were talking about–he was actually harassing me most of the time, in fact. I have no idea about otaku sometimes…to be honest the whole show was a little crazy.

    I’ll have my own thoughts up soon with this picture as well. It was great to meet you there!

    @ Dancing Queen,

    You sound like you need some help with some deep rooted personal issues. I would get yourself checked out…okay? Chill out or take a nice long vacation. I think you need one.

    @Dancing King:
    that was um… random and quite pointless…
