As promised here are the pics! Only things missing are the eggs and the humpty lock but those are on their way.
What do you guys think? I’m’ getting nervous about this outfit all of a sudden. I’m quite the perfectionist when it comes to cosplays, so i don’t’ want to look terrible. Can you think of anything i may need to work on for this outfit? Remember I’m getting the Humpty lock and eggs soon.
EDIT! I added the side pony tail on the wig, how’s it look? And it’s on the other side, i just took this from my bathroom mirror…

Good costume, congratulations on getting all the pieces together.
However:
Non-age appropriate cosplay. I can never see the young, innocent Amu in the cosplayer.
The wig clashes with the face. Either the wig is too light (or amplified by camera flash) or the cosplayer’s skin is too dark.
Please style the wig to have a side-ponytail. Don’t ruin the complete costume with an unfinished wig.

well thanks for the constructive criticism. yeah i’m 20 so i guess it’s hard to pull off a character who’s in like 7th grade.
the flash was a bit bright so it did make me look darker and the wig brighter and yes i will be putting it in the side pony tail.

I think you look adorable. Your costume’s perfect, love the bag. Sure, you’re not the same age as Amu, but really, how many other cosplayers are? Anime/manga characters tend to be very young and when you’re 20+ years old, you feel ancient (haha, I’m 21).
As for constructive criticism: I agree with adding the side ponytail, but you said you’d be adding that later. The pink color of the wig seems a little off (too bright) but I’m sure it’s hard to find a wig with the exact color. And also, hmm, how about move the arm band up a bit more (I’m being REALLY nitpicky here ^^;).
But seriously, great great job on the cosplay. Hope to see you at AX.

Good job.
Given that you are asking for nits to pick the armband from the reference picture seems to be as thick as the cuffs on the shirt. You might want to trim it down a little bit to preserve the relative scale.
All in all nothing major that wasn’t already mentioned, the wig/hairstyle. Though I was hoping to see how you would have done the eggs would have reached a prototype stage at this point. I am keen on seeing what solution you come up with to make shugo tama, that i think will be more of a trick given how working with small objects requires a more deft touch and steady hands.

I was going to write about the ponytail, but just saw you fixed that missing part ^^
Don’t be too demanding. I think Anon remarks are a bit too exagerated. Even the best cosplayers (I mean, those japanese models exhibiting during convensions) have flashy wigs and don’t have the same skin color as anime character… Why don’t you grab yellow contact-lens for the eye color as well? This is ridiculous.
This is already an awesome costume, very faithful, and that’s what is important. As long as you act like Amu, this will be perfect

Congratz on completing the cosplay. I’m sure u will be a stand out in the crowd. I personally think the light pink wig is a better fit for the hair. The other one looks too pinkish but it stands out more so that could be a bonus. What was the hardest part in ur opinion?
I wish I could attend AX to see all the events unfolded but considering I’m half way across the globe and I can only dream. T_T
Hopefully, I can turn the dream into a reality one day.

Constructive criticism, I like the last picture more.. guess a pale powder foundation will make your skin lighter.. with some pink blush.

This costume turned out great, and i think the wig with the ponytail looks perfect. Is it just the lighting? cuz the full costume pics your wig looks neon pink, and in the bathroom pic the wig looks more natural…

I actually did get yellow contacts for this cosplay, well Honey but they look awesome.

It’s the same wig only different lighting, the first ones look strange since my dad had the setting on his camera all weird. and the other was just just me in the bathroom and no flash.
but the hardest part was the skirt, i was terrified of how i was going to make it and tried myself a couple of times and failed then luckily my grandma came to the rescue!

I agree with Crusader about trimming the armband just slightly to match the length of the shirt cuffs.
Ponytail looks good; I assume it can’t be longer because of the limited amount of hair available with which to make the ponytail in the first place. ^^; Also (and I have no experience with wigs to know) if it’s possible to make the hair a little bit messier … and a little bit more in your face (or over your forehead).
After that, poses! Get more of the cool and spicy feel. Maybe practice walking around with a bag over your shoulder and just looking annoyed at the day.

I think you look great. As a cosplayer, I understand how you can’t look “perfect” since um…2D != 3D. But it looks great to me. I’ve actually seen quite a few Amu cosplayers in Japan and stateside, and you’re right up there. I think if you want to look younger, you should lay off on the eyeliner a little since you appear a lot more mature with it. Also, great job on making the pouch.

The pouch is awesome, but one thing about the wig ; Amu’s fringe (bangs in American?) if a full one rather than a side one, but that’s just a minor nitpicky thing. I think it’s amazing that you did a lot of it all yourself!

hi… your amu-chan’s costume overall rating, i give is 80%…
1st is your wig, the pony tail should be on your left and of course the fringe is wrong… her original fringes is covering from her whole forehead to her below the eyebrows and two curve fringes on both sides and while yours is only side parting fringe which u need to style already…
2nd is your belt, is wrong type… hers is 2 hole belt which can be easily found in any belt shops…
No offence ya.. i have helped my friend to cosplay amu-chan before so i might be a bit particular about small issues… ^^

well the pony tail is on the correct side, the image is just reversed since i took it facing a mirror… Going based of the manga cover she does have two belts on like the one i have one and the other like on the picture at the top of my post, i’m currently on the hunt for that second belt… and i’m trying ti figure out how to cut the bangs, i know that part is wrong but i’m terrible at cutting bangs and i don’t want to ruin the wig…

OMG!!! Amu-chan! I can’t believe this. I love your cosplay. Its mega rad and I’m super jealous. Your’s looks WAY better than mine. Yup, I’m cosplaying as Amu too. :3 I do have like one… okay more like a few questions. You said the eggs and humpty lock were ‘on the way’, the question: from where? I’d love to have a totally accurate cosplay, just like you. And OMG the x-hair clip is perfect! Mega props. You rock, and I’m totally inspired to make my Amu cospaly even better! <3

Actually, Amu is a fifth grader. I, personally, love the costume and I don’t think you’re to old for it at all. She’s not the typical ditzy shoujo heroine, and dosen’t act young, so I think the costume is great.

I don’t think you should have a wig.It seems a bit over the top.You could just spray your hair though.
