Our apartment – 2016 NSFW

It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]

[Alter] – Melty Review

So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]

[Orchid Seed] – Yuki Review NSFW

Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]

Nendoroid Storage Container

I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]

Megahouse Sanji

Continueing with my One Piece figure review we have Sanji. Sanji here is just like Rob Lucci of my last review, he strikes me again as a badass douche bag. Except that Sanji looks more badass than Douchebag compared to Rob Lucci. Am i wrong in my assumptions? Let me know in a comment and make sure to come back soon for the upcoming giveaway! You’ll want to comment here and on previous posts if you haven’t to be able to enter the contest!

Sanji, unlike Rob Lucci only has one big thing against him that doesn’t let him be totally cool. It’s the cigarette! Sorry anyone who smokes, it’s not cool! It’s smells bad, it makes your teeth yellow, and it’ll kill you! My dad smoked a lot when I was younger but he has a heart attack and then quit, but not before I harassed him my entire childhood to quit! Since then I’ve always been outspoken on how I hate smoking!

I do love his shirt and the detailed lines he has. I love how they made grooves for the lines on his skirt and didn’t just paint them on.

Yuck! I can just imagine him smelling all kinds of gross!

His eyebrow is silly too, I wonder do we ever get to see his other eye?

Sanji for me is a little lackluster compared to some of these other outlandish characters. If i were a fan of the show or of this character then he’d be the best figure to get. But since I know nothing of the show there really isn’t anything of him that stands out enough to make me want to own him. He’s well detailed and well sculpted, no major paint issues or seam lines. But still he’s very plain and while I’m always looking for more figures of men to own i either prefer when the figure is just outstanding or if I like said male character.

A douche only to other guys. To the ladies, he acts like a gentleman.

  2. MG says:

He does seem pretty plain compared to the other characters’ wild designs. There’s nothing that really catches your attention.

I agree that the cigarette is not cool. I am very anti-smoking, too.

  3. KuroiTsubasa4 says:

You never see his other eye 😛 Except in one scene where the animators goofed up and then it looks so weird seeing it, haha. As for his eyebrow, that’s just Oda being special. I agree that this is one of the plainer figures in the series. Sanji fights using only his legs, so I think it would have been nice to have him preparing for a kick or in a full out action pose rather than just standing there…but unfortunately the figures in this line aren’t overly dynamic. I love them anyways though 🙂

ouaaa so many One Piece figure fallen from the sky! ^^
Reminds me I have this Sanji fig somewhere in a box =_= with other main characters. Only miss Robin actually.

    Yeah he is quite plain compared to other characters… or should I say the most normal! haha. Not much the figure’s fault ^^;;

Could be nice I you have the chance to take some outside shots near the ocean. Would fit One Piece characters perfectly ^^

i do plan on doing a nice group shot at a harbor close to my brother’s place possibly monday

  5. Oh, I actually have this figure. I love his shiny shoes! Sanji can be a major jerk to other guys, but he’s completely docile when it comes to women. In fact, this “I can’t hurt a woman” policy actually comes back to bite him in the ass when he ends up with a female opponent later in the series.

Compared to most of the cast, Sanji does look realy darn plain. The curly eyebrow (which he gets embarrassed about when people comment on it) is the only ‘weird’ thing about him. Well, aside from the fact that his one eye is ALWAYS hidden. He does have a lot of quirks to make up for it: He only uses his legs/feet in battle, all of his attacks are named after food, he acts like a complete dork with women, etc.

He does seem to be a bit of a chain smoker…

    • Dancing Queen says:

the shiny shoes are really made well. Now that you mention that he uses mostly his feet in fights it would have been cool if they had him in more of an action pose instead

  6. Jerok says:

Grah! Ok, I’ll just say it, Robin and Sanji are the ones I like the least (and maybe even Luffy…) from this set. Are you doing this on purpose? :O Evil I say, evil!

Anyways, being a non-smoker while having a family filled with nicotine addicts makes me a smoking hater as well. But I can’t deny the cool factor on smoking. A guy always looks cool on his smoking pose, until you actually get close to him.

We never get to see Sanji’s eye, even when he’s upside down. According to the author himself it’s one of One Piece many mysteries.

Contradicting the smoking factor, there’s something he can do that wouldn’t be seen as cool by the general public, but I’m sure girls and women can appreciate it and find cool. He’s a cook! And an elite cook at that, how neat is that?

    • Dancing Queen says:

well the next ones are much better!

    • Zero says:

Actually i gotta argue with smoking adding a cool factor, id say yes but only 50% since well in real life i can’t see anything cool about it, it does however look good in manga or anime in my opinion

  7. LilSeebs says:

I don’t like how they sculpted his face, but they did a very nice job on his lower body =3

  8. breeman says:

While I dislike smoking as well (never done it, never will), I think the cigarette is just part of his character. Although you could watch the dub, where they turn his cigarettes into lollipops. Oh 4kids….

Despite how plain this figure is, I think it looks pretty badass. Even though I haven’t seen this series yet, I think he would be one of my favorite characters.

  9. Janina says:

I’ve been watching One Piece for a while, but this is the first time I notice Sanji has some stubble, I like that.
And I would almost want to buy this figure, if not for the cig. So not cool, but maaaybe you could turn it into a popsicle with some clay. 😀

    • Dancing Queen says:

the stubble was a nice detail that i agree i didn’t notice until i saw this figure compared to images i saw of the character

  10. pyrogamer01 says:

He is really simple and I don’t really like how dark the lines of his face are. Then again, he has more personality quirks than accessories. I do like his belt and chain. Very detailed.

    • Dancing Queen says:

yes those are the most detailed parts on this figure and i do think they did a fine job on at least making those simple parts nicely detailed

  11. OTOhime says:

    ARRGGHH These reviews really make me want to watch/read One Piece now XDD But it’s just so much to learn ;3;

  12. Izzi says:

I just got back from a convention where I noticed there were a lot of One Piece figures. It was sort of weirding me out, because I remember reading One Piece when it was first published in Shonen Jump, and I didn’t realize it’s popularity had resurfaced. Still, I’m enjoying some of the more outlandish figures. This Sanji does seem sort of tame, though. Hm.

  13. Jisu-chan says:

I like the detail on his shirt.

I remember when the anime was first dubbed before funimation got the rights. They went as far as to edit his cigarette into a lollipop…..it was kinda funny….yet annoying…

    • Dancing Queen says:

now that’s just going too far with editing it for kids!

      • Jisu-chan says:

yeah, 4kids did that with every anime they got a hold of. If you ever watch any of their dubs you’ll see they only can about how much money they can make and not about the fans or even the original age base of the anime they get.

  14. ddh4mster says:

I remember about Sanji is his being of a great cook curse me for being a foodie here.
But yes he’s a heavy smoker and that part is taken out with Lollipop just like what Jisu-chan said previously (just like how Smoker’s cigarrete got deleted out).
And well… Sanji’s not a douche bag dont worry, but a top rated gentleman and ahemm…. womanizer hahaha….

The figure looks pretty cool, not a big fan of the cigarette but the figure did justify his personality in my opinion. Minor details on the belt is spotted and they did good job in it.

Out of the ‘plain’-ness of the figurine, I was hoping to see the black suit he mostly wear in the series which may looked better along his blue striped long sleeve.

    • Dancing Queen says:

at least he’s a gentleman and we all love a man who can cook! My boyfriend can make some of the best curry ever and i love when he cooks!

  15. Jase says:

I agree with you, this figure looks very plain compared to the other outlandish characters in this line. Good sculpt though. =)

  16. Rapunzel says:

I don’t watch one piece but of what I’ve seen of him all I know is that he really likes the ladies~ XDXD However I simply adore the way Megahouse did his shirt with such detail <3

  17. lovelyduckie says:

I agree with Breeman you could watch the 4Kids version of One Piece 🙂 Also the smoking thing really doesn’t bother me at all, it’s just a part of a fictional character. PLUS Sanji may be strong but Luffy and Zoro are far stronger, and neither of them smoke. Zoro seems takes very good care of his body so that he can reach his goal (lots of exercise and plenty of rest!). I can’t imagine he would ever pick up a cigarette.
