I haven’t been a fan of Yamato’s work for quite some time. When I first started collecting figures they were more readily available and I owned a few but after I started finding better quality pieces I sold them all since they were so horrible. I haven’t bought a Yamato figure in so many years but recently have seen some of their more recent work in person and thought they were stunning. I however was still very apprehensive about the idea of buying another figure from them.
This Knee Socks figure has made me reconsider my stance. There is something that calls my name with Knee Socks, I’m not sure if it’s her face, the pose, the one bare foot. Maybe it’s the entire figure overall but I can’t seem to pass up ordering this figure in particular.
At least from these promotional shots she looks amazing. We can’t always trust promotional shots and have to wait till we see her in person but it’s enough to sell me on this figure.
Knee Socks comes out around October of this year for a whopping 10,000+ Yen. It’s a little pricey and I’m hoping that high price ticket will also amount to a higher quality figure. She also be pretty big, non-scale but about 260mm tall. Will you be getting your hands on this figure?

I recently picked up a Yamato figure (Dendrodium Violet) and was blown away by the quality. I’m used to Yamato figures being mediocre at best (and downright abysmal at worst)! Yamato’s really stepping up their game, and if they keep pumping out sculpts like this they may become a serious contender to Good Smile and Alter.
