It’s that time of the year again! Exactly one year ago i posted My reverse Harem. It was quite popular so i felt like doing it again since it really does need to be updated.

My last Harem has at least one guy that needs to be removed. Sorry but Renji, you’re out. The suckyness of Bleach has ruined my love for you. Even though you were a big part of my harem last year my tastes have changed and my love for you has just kept dwindling. Also I’m removing Gene Starwind, not that i don’t’ like him anymore, but really, my Harem needs space for some new meat!

Now onwards to my list!

Anime: Full Metal Panic (2002)

It’s hard for me to describe why i love Souske so much. I mentioned in my last harem post how i loved his quirkiness and that hasn’t changed. I think the biggest reason he’s still on the list is Full Metal Panic’s re-watchablity. If it were a series that i would watch once then forget he wouldn’t even be up for consideration. Plus I had just purchased the first two novels of FMP and my love for Souske and the FMP story was re-ignited in a big way. The novels are really amazing and if you haven’t picked them up i really suggest you do so.

I’ve Loved Kamina since i saw the first episode of Gurren Lagann last year. Kamina is a character that is hard to not like. While his life may have been ended short he was never forgotten within the Dai Gurren Dan. And he’ll never be forgotten for me. He’s a major part of Gurren Lagann’s story and honestly without him they wouldn’t have made it as far as they did. While Simon may have been the one with the power, without his Aniki there to back him up with a big grin he wouldn’t have been able to get as far as he did. Characters like Kamina are the reason i love anime so much. You don’t see characters or people like Kamina often and if you do they are deemed reckless idiots. But there was a method to Kamina’s madness (not that he was crazy.) Plus he’s so badass he gets a place on my car as well!

Now normally i wait a few months before I add another person into my harem. I’ve got to make sure it’s love and not infatuation. But i have to make an exception for this guy. I’ve already professed my love once and here i am doing it again. Lockon Stratos, You are worthy of my Harem! I’m sooo eager for the next season of Gundam 00, I’m eager to see what they will do with Lockon’s character. I was reminded on how there was a scene in the first season where Lockon goes to leave flowers at his family’s grave, and there were already flowers and someone who looked EXACTLY like Lockon hiding in the shadows. I’m just worried that this new Lockon is going to be some evil jerk… So for now until we see how Lockon will be in the next season. I’m going to specify that the Lockon i <3 is Lockon Stratos of Season 1.

The second time a Seki Tomokazu character makes my list. For nobu it’s quite simple as to why he’s on my list, It’s the Guitar. Nobu is a Hopeless romantic who just wants to write music and find his love. He’s had his heart broken by Hachi and while Nana and Hachi may be the main characters, Nobu is a main reason i keep reading. I’m still hoping that somewhere down the road Hachi returns to Nobu. But i have no idea what will happen since NO ONE IS RELEASING SCANS OF NANA!!!!!!!

Want to know why Tomoya is in my list? Other than the fact that he looks hot shirtless? He’s the first guy in a Harem type anime (that i’ve seen) that has some backbone. Most Harem leads are spineless wimps who wouldn’t really amount to much. They are your typical losers, yet all the girls somehow fall for him. Tomoya is Sarcastic and a delinquent, yet he has had his share of problems in his life. It was so refreshing to see a male lead be so awesome in this type of show. For his sarcastic nature and still willing to help out the girls who do need help, Tomoya gets a spot in my Harem.

Well in most harems there is the typical “loli” character or Imouto. So why i can’t i have my Shota character?I’ve always liked Syaoran since i first saw CCS in Middle School. I wonder now why i didn’t add him to my original Harem, he’s always a character I’ve had a soft spot for.How he goes from Rival to Love Interest is just so awesome! Now don’t get this confused with Syaoran of Tsubasa Chronicles. Yes i could have used him instead and had someone who would have been closer to a much more legal age. But in all honesty i didn’t like Tsubasa Chronicles as much as i adored CCS.

Saotomoe Alto
Anime: Macross Frontier (2008)
Seiyuu: Nakamura Yuuichi

Only reason Alto isn’t in my harem is that Macross Frontier is still too new. Alto so far, is pretty cool and badass in my book. Plus i adore his hair! But there is still so much more of Macross to come and Alto’s Character could either get much more awesome, or it go go south…I’d rather wait till next year to decide on whether or not he’s still worthy of my harem. But for now he’s just a runner up.

Harima Kenji
Anime: School Rumble (2004)
Seiyuu: Takahashi Hiroki

Harima sadly only has one thing that is a very large fault that isn’t even his fault. He looks too much like my ex bf. But Harima is much cuter and much more badass. His likeness to a real life person who i despise is the reason Harmia isn’t in my Harem. While his personality is nothing like my EX at all. His character design is all too similar. But since i still love harima for his personality he’s a runner up for my harem.

Simon
Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann (2007)
Seiyuu: Kakihara Tetsuya

I have only one real rule that i follow for my harem. No two characters of the same series. For that Simon gets the ax. Sorry Simon while the second Arc of Gurren Lagann shows how awesome Simon really is, in my mind he still never surpasses my love for Kamina. Plus without Kamina, Simon would never have been even remotely as awesome as he gets near the end!

Dr. Franken Stein
Anime: Soul Eater (2008)
Seiyuu: Uchida Yuya

Once again another left out of the harem since his character is still too new. Stein is still pretty badass and i really like his character but since the show is still far too new, i can’t put him in my harem since his character can go up or down really.

Kururugi Suzaku
Anime: Code Geass( 2006)
Seiyuu: Sakurai Takahiro

Why isn’t Suzaku in my harem? I did profess my love to him just the other day! Simple, Geass is almost done and we have no idea what Sunrise is going to pull on us now! They may find a way to make me not like Suzaku anymore. i want Geass to be complete before i honestly sit and decide if i have in my harem or not.

1/8 Asahina Mikuru

Now I Got Mikuru first out of all my Max Factory figures. My first worry was that she may be a leaner, but its 7 months later and she’s still not leaning. What I love the most about this figure is her face, while she’s not exactly smiling or looking her happiest, this is what Mikuru looked like the majority of the show. Frightened and embarrassed from all the crazy outfits Haruhi put her in. The detail that MF puts into their figures is amazing, and you can really tell just form this figure alone. In Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu they mention that Mikuru has a small mole on her left breast, well this figure has that mole! It’s teeny tiny and unless you’ve seen the show you might not notice it. But that kinda detail is what makes Max Factory an amazing company!

1/8 Asakura Ryoko

Not my favorite character of Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu, but once I got Haruhi and Mikuru I knew I just had to have the complete set! I knew that I had to have all 5 ladies standing together on my shelf! Asakura is really well made, what I love the most is her hair. The color, the shape, the way it flows, It’s breathtaking! I also love how MF did with changing from her bag to her knife. It changes her completely! Either she’s innocent a demure just holding her school bag, or she’s plotting something very evil when she’s holding her knife.

1/8 Nagato Yuki

Now I almost missed out on Yuki, I didn’t get her the first order she came through because well, I didn’t think I needed her. I had my heart set on getting the E2046 Yuki, but I ended up canceling her since I really couldn’t afford a $100+ figure at the time. So once they decided to do a re-release of the MF Yuki I knew I had to get her. Plus I already had the pre-order in for Askura, I knew I had to get the whole set! So then Yuki came into the picture as well. I will have to say I was blown away by this figure. The promotional shots did not do her any justice. She is amazing and with the changeable torso it makes me feel like I have two different figures.

1/8 Shirakawa Kotori

Now as I mentioned I jumped on the Da Capo bandwagon a little late. I was super worried that since I did, I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on this lovely figure but lucky me I found her online and for cheap!!! She is an amazing figure and from what everyone’s comments on that post she seems to be the figure that made people take notice of Max Factory and their ability to make amazing figures. There is pretty much nothing wrong with her at all, perfect paint, amazing pose, great face. The way the folds on the seifuku just match with the way she is posed, she’s a top quality figure and I’m super proud to finally have her in my collection! Plus i love character with pink hair so even if i never did see Da Capo i might have seeked her out anyways .

1/8 Suzumiya Haruhi

Now truly this figure spawned my hatred to Atelier Sai, when you have a less than wonderful figure that cost you and arm and a leg, then you get an inexpensive work of art. You kind of get mad that you paid so much for the first one that was horrible. I at first loved my Atelier Sai Haruhi Bunny, but it was only because I had never seen anything better. Then I got my MF Haruhi, I was blown away by the detail, the paint, the face, the pose, everything this figure had that none of my other figures had. She really was the figure that made my small collection grow to the size it is now. If someone could make something so amazing I had to have more!

1/8 Van

I don’t own many male figures and that is pretty sad. I’m all for the coalition to add more male figures to Max Factory’s line up. I still have yet to see GunxSword and while this is technically my boyfriend’s figure I officially stole it from him! Well I did buy it in the first place while at Anime Expo! I’m sad though I did over pay for him by a lot. I paid $70 for him when the next day at the same booth they had him for $40. Well my boyfriend moved from one place to another and he’s been at this place for 4 months now and has yet to remove any of his figures from their boxes!! These Wonderful figures are meant to be displayed and enjoyed! If by me? Then all the better!!! So I took them all from him and set them up in my house now! So Van is on display once again and just seeing him makes me want to run out and watch GunxSword so I can fully appreciate his badassness!!!

Regrets:
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, i wished i ordered Fauna!!! She’s my only regret this year! But i’ll get her once i get a job!!!

1/8 Aruruu

I bought Aruruu as usual an impulse buy, I can’t remember where exactly i just know it wasn’t from HLJ. She is one of my most favorite Kotobukiya Figures. She’s cute and adorable, The paint has just about no flaws. i just wish i had her onee-chan to keep her company .

1/7 Dokuro-Chan

One of the first figures i bought this year once i started to collect anime figures. I just had to have a our favorite Angel as a figure! She’s not the best figure out there, but the little details are what i love. How her Halo rests on her ribbons i thought was well done, it would have looked bad if they tried to do some sort of bar. I also love the details on Excalibolg, i looks perfect. But i just don’t like the paint on this particular figure, unlike most pvc figures where the skin is a matte paint they gave her a semi-glossy paint. Now normally i wouldn’t complain about something as trivial as that, but it doesn’t look right mostly on her legs. Oh and there is also a small black mark just above her left stocking. Now i will say even with these small faults i still love Dokuro-chan, and anyone who is a fan of Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan NEEDS this figure!

1/8 Haruka Amami

Can you say impulse buy? I know i can!!! I’ve haven’t even finished watching Idolmaster Xenoglossia! I try and make a rule for myself, “Never buy a figure from a series you don’t know.” In case that i buy a figure then watch the show then end up hating said show or character. It’s like if i bought the Max Factory Aisia figure, and then saw Da Capo! I hate Aisia, as most of us do! So then i’d end up hating said figure! So why did i buy Haruka? I have no idea but i know that she does look awesome here and i’m hoping that when i do finally watch Idolmaster Xenoglossia, that i’ll like Haruka!

1/8 Kamigishi Akari

I <3 To Heart! I’m soooo glad i saw this show! Thanks Deftoned for making me watch it! I hadn’t even thought about watching To heart really, but then i realized that i can’t call myself an anime fan without ever seeing or at least attempting to see To heart!!! Once i saw this series i knew i had to have this Akari figure! Luckily i found it from a seller on eBay in the US that had her on sale! So i got her at a amazing price! She really is well made for an older Kotobukiya Figure. But she’s the only really good to heart figure sadly. The others just don’t hold a candle to their anime counterparts.

1/8 Louise

I had been eyeing this figure for so long and when i saw her at AX i just had to have her. Now the only thing that is off is her face, it doesn’t really look like Louise. But the rest of her is pretty damn amazing! What i love is her cape, it gives the impression that she’s doing a complicated spell that just creates tons of wind surrounding her! I love it!

1/12 Mahoro Sports Bike

Now here we have my favorite Kotobukiya figure! This Mahoro is simply amazing, the paint, he pose, the bike. It’s all amazing! what i like is that not only is Mahoro a piece of art herself, the bike is also detailed to a T. It’s amazing, my dad loves motorcycles and he himself was drolling over Mahoro’s bike! The price tag can be a bit high, but trust me if you like Mahoromatic at all, this figure is just simply one to have in your collection!!!

1/8 Matou Sakura Vacation Version

Now we have Sakura in her sluttiest pose over! Not really suited for the charater. But then at the same time it doesn’t look like she’s trying to be slutty, she’s trying to tie her swimsuit. So her boobs are a bit big and get in the way. I love her base the most, instead of a boring base they gave us the illusion that she’ at the beach with a sandy like base!

1/7 Mirei-San

I like to call this figure my “hot office lady.” She’s the kinda secretary all bosses would dream for, and the kind that their wives would hate . I love how you have optional hair styles for her the most. When i change her around it feels like i have a brand new figure!

1/8 Rin Tousaka

I really wanted a Rin figure that was simple, not one in a swimsuit, or maid outfit, just Rin in her normal attire. Even though she looks like she might be a leaner since she’s only on one leg, she’s really light and doesn’t look like she’ll be a leaner.

1/8 Saber

You can’t get Rin without her matching saber! My 3rd saber, i really like her outfit for this figure, same with Rin goes for Saber. I wanted a plain, simple saber figure. Nothing complicated or over the top.

1/7 Shii Arisugawa

The sexiest meganekko figure i’ve got. You can have her either holding a sword or a cell phone, i opted for the sword. Plus removable skirt is a plus, only thing is since she’s so big she leans a bit sometimes and needs to go back into her box from time to time.

1/8 Shinji & Kaworu School Uniform

I’m a full supporter of having more male figures made, i think for every 90 million female figures there are, there are 2 decent male figures… I really only bought these boys since they looked cool, they weren’t expensive, and i already have 7 female NGE figures. Might as well have some of the boys as well!

Next: Max Factory!

Yes I bought both versions that E2046 had to offer. But i ended up selling the black one to my brother since he wanted it soooooo badly and was willing to pay me way over what E2046 sold it to me for! Now i can honestly say these two are the most expensive figures i’ve ever purchased, and usually I’d regret it by now. I’d think, wow with that money i could have bought a whole bunch of cheaper figures. But in reality i truly think these are the prize of my collection. Yes they did cost me a pretty penny, but the detail, the paint, the pose, the face, the fishnets… All of them combine to make an amazing figure. If anything the only thing i regret is selling off the black one to my brother. I would have loved to just have both ladies standing next to each other. But at least I know she went to a good home, to someone who will honestly appreciate her just as much as I do.

1/6 Eureka w/Sky Fish, 1/6 Talho

Not much to say really, nothing about these figures really stand out, they are both amazing and look great, they command a presence yet fall to the back. But i do love having them in my collection, the detail is well done, no problems with paint or pose, the faces look just right. They aren’t figures for beauty but more for if you loved Eureka Seven, if you a fan of the show these two ladies are a must have.

1/8 Chidori Kaname Swimsuit Ver

My absolute Favorite Full Metal Panic figure ever! This makes up for the horribleness that is the Atelier sai Chidori that I bought. She’s beautiful, and it looks just like Chidori! How can i explain this? I hated the atelier sai figure since it was out of place for the character. Well i love this figure because it suits the character. Come on what was FMP if not pretty girls, guns, mecha and a great story line! My only regret about this figure is i bought her as the display figure at a store, so she didn’t come with a box. I still have the boxes to all my figures, yes it takes up space. Well lets not kid ourselves, it takes up a crapload of space. But i take pride in the fact that i have all these figures and that i also have all of their original boxes…

1/6 Saber Holiday Version

One of my favorite Saber figures that i own. An impulse buy, but a well thought out impulse buy. I had wanted this figure for some time but didn’t really feel like going through the effort of buying her online. So when i saw her decently priced at a local anime store she was all mine! What i love most about this figure is her outfit, it’s sweet and innocent. Plus she was my first removable skirt figure. I was opening her out of the box and noticed that the skirt had plastic over the top. I sat around and trying to just pull the plastic off but i couldn’t so i tugged on her a bit and she came apart! I thought for sure i broke her, i had just bought her and she’s already broken! But then i noticed, “Hey! She’s not broken! You do this to take off her skirt!!!” With an amazing pose and a great innocent yet shy face this Saber is an amazing figure!

1/8 Sumomo Akihime

Sumomo, oh Sumomo I <3 you! from the moment i started watching Nanatsuiro drops i fell in love with Sumomo. I don’t know what it was, the magical girl costume? Her sheep friend who actually is her secret crush? Her shyness yet willingness to persevere? I don’t really know but i loved this character and i just had to have this figure! She really is just so cute, and how she hugs Yuki-chan is just adorable! Only thing i don’t like? Her skirt is removable and yes that usually is a plus, her underwear seems to fall a bit short and it seems like the top of her butt is hanging out. So even though I love removable Skirt figures, I wish she had better underwear on.

Craft Label Death Note Ryuk

My only Death Note figure. I will admit i bought this when i was going through a “OMG DEATH NOTE IS THE BEST SERIES EVAH!” phase, i still love my ryuk. He’s the largest figure in my collection, but it suits him. What i love the best is how he’s made, instead of everything being made out of pvc, he also has some cloth like material on him. All his “clothing” you could say is made of cloth so it gives him some added texture. Plus unlike a normal PVC figure, he’s not smooth, he’s rough and has a dry feeling. For a human figure it would never work, but for our sarcastic apple loving shinagami? It’s perfect.

Ayase Fuka School Uniform

Fuka! oh fuka, She’s not the prettiest of all my girls. she doesn’t have a knock out body, no big boobies, no nice butt. She’s a plain jane, a simple girl nothing to wild about her. She’s kinda drab really, even her pose reminds me of the girls at school who weren’t too pretty, knew they weren’t and just didn’t care. But then thats our fuka! and I wouldn’t have her any other way!

Eclair & Lumiere

Nothing to say about these two really, they were handed down to me from my boyfriend, i’ve never seen kiddy grade. I will say i’m not a fan of the bome series. I hate the packaging, how you have to cut open the box to even open it up! Pain in my ass!

Chidori Kaname & Teresa Testarossa

Another Bome Series, I don’t like the faces on these figures really, But i do like the detailing on the uniforms for each character. It’s a well made sculpt, not problems with the paint. the faces are just off. If you need to have all the figures from FMP i’d say get these instead of ever buying the Atelier sai ones…

Himekuri Image Girl Mode Bianca/Mode Nero

IMPULSE BUYS!!! i bought these cause they were cheap! SUPER CHEAP! HLJj wants $33 for each, I bought both for 35! They are however very cute and very well made figures. For the lolicon in everyone these are must haves.

ALERT! I’M AN IMPULSE SHOPPER! Once again HLJ wanted about $33 i got her for $20! WHY I BOUGHT HER? I DON’T KNOW MYSELF!!! But then thats why i’m selling her off on Ebay!

Revoltech Eva-04, Revoltech Yotsuba Koiwai

My two Revoltech figures. Now i know that people seem to love these. I however don’t enjoy joints. I will take a solid PVC figure over a jointed action figure any day. I bought the Eva-04 for sentimental reasons… (my brother names all the computer in the house hold, His two are Eva-00 and Eva- 01, out first family computer was Eva-02 and our second one was Eva-03, his three servers? you guessed it! The three Magi. So what did i get stuck with? Eva-04 of course!) I bought Yotsuba, well because it’s yotsuba! She’s an amazing character! I just had to have her! i will admit that i like how you can pose her and make her do crazy things. But I would still prefer a PVC figure of her to go with Fuka!

Lagann Impact Model

I almost wouldn’t have had the Lagann Model this year. Thanks HLJ for letting me get by on my bills by the skin of my teeth. I don’t exactly have the money right now to still be buying figures but i still had Lagann on my order list. Since he was back-ordered with no new shipment in sight i just assumed i wouldn’t get him till next year. Well i was wrong, just when i had no money left HLj decided to get one in stock and send it to little broke me. I was able to scrap some money together to pay from him and i’m thankful i got him! It’s an amazing model, iv’e been wanting it ever since i saw this image.

1/8 Yoko Ritona

Oh yoko, I Love Yoko so much they could release a horrible figure of her and i’ve still buy it, well unless its from atelier sai. But this is a great figure, best part? if you’re extremely careful… you can remove her top. Well not so much remove but put upwards. Word of warning though. Be extra careful, you can break it off. This is an awesome figure of Yoko but i’m going pre-maturely i’m going to say that i have a feeling that the new 1/7 Yoko will be a bit better than this figure. But for a Gurren Lagann lover like me, I’ll buy them all anyways!

Can someone honestly say they hate a certain figure? I know I can, I can honestly say it about 4 of them to be precise. I hate these figures, they are horrible and yet I bought them all. Why? I don’t know why still. My thought is that I had the money at the time and they were some of the first figures I saw! Atelier Sai beat Max Factory to the punch and released both the Red bunny Mikuru and the Black Bunny Haruhi. I just had to have a Haruhi figure so I went with those. Then later I saw the Max Factory Haruhi and all it’s wonder and pre-ordered her as well, well my order kept getting pushed back so I kept buying more Atelier-Sai figures. I didn’t have any other amazing figures to compare them to so i thought they were good figures. I got the Tessa figure and then reluctantly the Chidori figure. I didn’t originally want the Chidori figure, she seemed too slutty. Yes, too slutty! Chidori is not a slutty character, she’s loud and strong and doesn’t let people push her around, she’s no where near slutty. Both of the Full Metal Panic figures were out of place, neither pose nor outfit suited the character. Plus once I started getting more quality figures I realized how bad quality these figures were. The face is off, they don’t look like the characters at all! Plus they are huge, and they all had the same boring giant black base.

Otome-Dama Croissant Mask

More of my boyfriend’s figure than my own, This alter ego of Ringo from Air gear is a beauty. She’s well made, and well painted. My only complaint is the base, she is very wobbly on it. But other than that she’s a beauty. We did purchase her online through HLJ so we did have our time to debate on whether we truly wanted her or not. Out of all the Ringo figures I have she’s not my favorite but since she was for my boyfriend really than i have no complaints.

Once again this was as usual an impulse buy, but more along the lines of I didn’t even know a Kyoko figure existed. I looked but never really found any figures online (that just shows you how bad i am at finding stuff online). But I saw her sitting in one store and my first thought was that she was a fake, They had her in a display case outside of her box. SO i asked if they had the box she came in, they told me yes, went to the back room and pulled t out. Yes she was real and for only $22 she was already mine! She’s well made considering the price really. Not extravagant at all, but then Kyoko’s beauty was simple so if they tried to do anything extravagant i might not like this figure.

I do love this Ren figure, I really love Peach-Pit art so when I saw this little lady on display in an anime store she was mine. What i love about her the most is the way her hair sits. It’s exactly the way her hair was in the story, lively and flowing.

Clayz
Rin Tousaka Swimsuit

I think the thing I love most about Rin here is her legs. They are practically perfect, long, smooth, the shape, She looks like a gorgeous model. Plus how she’s seems to tease you, you don’t know whether she’s pulling her top off, or putting it on. She doesn’t seem like she’s trying to tease you with her sexiness, but instead she you her sweet side. She’s really a must have if you’re a die Hard Rin fan!

The only real Chii figure i’ve ever gotten my hands on. I don’t know what it is about this girl that i love so much; Her outfit? Her pose? Her hair? Everything is about perfect. Except for a teeny mark on her left butt cheek, She’s perfect. the only thing, and i mean THE ONLY THING I DON’T LIKE, is her base. It’s huge! plus she’s not even attached to it. it’s huge and bulky and pointless. It’s just a space waster really, she doesn’t even need a base if you’ve going to give me this lame ass base Fewture!

Regrets:
The figures i regret the most aren’t figures that I never bought. no no no, it’s figures that i did buy, only because i had the money. I didn’t buy them for beauty i bought them to show off. I explained it before; it’s like buying a hummer, you don’t need a hummer. It’s not the nicest looking car out there, it’s big, bulky, and a gas guzzler. You could have bought a nicer hybrid, smaller, much more elegant, saves you money on gas, an all in all better deal! Now thats what i did with my Atelier sai figures. I bought them only because they were the first haruhi figures released. Plus they were bigger and were more expensive. Why did i do that? i had such a small collection and i wanted to show off, i wanted people to think “wow this girl has some awesome figures!” But i later realized it’s not about Quantity with figures, but the quality. Within the figure owning community i bet if you saw someone with only 4 figures but they were some of the most rare and beautiful figures ever and then you saw some kid with tons of giant nasty figures that are easy to find and cost lots of money… Who would you looks up to? Me personally I’d look to the one who has the better figures. It may be a smaller collection but they are so much better in quality really! Luckily I was able to sell off all my Atelier sai figures this year, and with the money I earned I was able to get much more smaller better quality figures! I really shouldn’t say this but please if you want to ever become a figure collector STAY AWAY FROM ATELIER-SAI! At least wait until the finally get their act together and staying doing much more quality work and please if anyone from Atelier-Sai even stumbles on this, i’m not being mean, you guys just have to get your act together!

So i was going to make a post about all the figures i bought over this past year. But i realized that before this year i only had about 4 figures so i can’t really make a post describing what i feel about 60 figures. So i’ll do one on each Major Figure production company! First in alphabetical order, Alter!

Figures I purchased:

1/8 Amy, Jo, Meg, Sei

I bought these figures for my boyfriend since he loves Bakuretsu Tenshi. I got him all the Alter figures for him as a present but later on he decided that he prefers Gundam models over figures so i ended up keeping them instead! They were purely impulse buys really, they were pretty,I had the money so they went home with me. The only one out of the set that was hard to find was Sei, not thati coulnd’t find her but everyone i found had problems with the paint. On her stomach was a part that seemed like it wasn’t painted on at all and I wasn’t about to spend lots of money on a defective product. Finally we get to one store and it had the same defect, we asked the owner if it were possible to get a discount on the figure since it was defective and he gave us 15% off, but once we got home and opened her up we realized that she wasn’t defective but the way she was packaged made her look that way! So i got Sei for cheaper than the others!

1/6 Saber

She again was an impulse buy. Now what do i mean by impulse buy? I mean that I saw her in a store/convention and didn’t have months to think about whether I wanted her or not. The advantages to Online pre-orders of being able to think on whether I really want her or not are thrown out the window. It’s either I get her or I don’t, really an impulse buy for me depends on only one thing. Money, whether I have it or not, if i do I’m usually taking a figure home with me, if not then I don’t. Now i can’t say I’m not happy with this particular Saber but i will say she has caused me so many problems… She is a classic leaner. She leans, A LOT. I don’t think I’ve ever had a figure that I’ve had to fix more often than this saber. It’s not that she’s standing on one foot, but more off that she’s too top heavy for her base. On top of the fact that she is a 1/6 Scale figure so she’s going to be big, her base is poorly designed.

1/8 Takamachi Nanoha

I think I honestly have to say this is my favorite Alter figure that I’ve got this whole year! She’s well made, has a pretty good base so I’m not worried about her leaning. I think all in all she was a great buy. She really was an impulse buy as well, I had just lost my job and wanted to do something fun. Whats more fun that going to an anime store and spending the last of your money on figures? We just walked in and there she was! I just picked her up paid for her a left, I didn’t even give it a second thought. I bought her and I hadn’t even watched A’s yet! thats how much of an impulse she was. But I don’t regret it at all! I love this figure and now that I have her I’m also getting the Alter 1/8 Fate so I’m super excited to have them both in my collection!

Regrets:

1/8 Louise

I never knew what i didn’t order this, maybe it was since I had just started getting into figures and really didn’t know which kinds were the best. Maybe it was that fact that I’m crazy, I have no idea. But I did and still do want this figure. Right now money is tight so i can’t get her, but if I see this figure for a reasonable price next year at AX there is no doubt that I’ll have her in my possession.1/8 Hagumi Hanamoto

I had her pre-ordered for the longest time but then dropped it. I guess as usual I didn’t have the money to purchase her. I do hope I can find her again in a store one day but right now it doesn’t look likely. I will say I did however love Honey and Clover a lot, maybe I didn’t buy her cause I was waiting for a better figure of her to be released but that never happened.

Overall thoughts:

I did like Alter’s turn out this year. They had released a lot of amazing figures this year but I guess for some reason they didn’t all end up in my possession. I can say the one figure I was sad to not get was the 1/8 Fate but since she’s being re-released this may i was able to snag a pre-order so no worries on her part!

In no particular order.

• A glass figure case. Preferable the one like my brother has. It doesn’t have to be this one but I’d like one big enough for my many figures. I’m worried of the dust getting to my figures.
• A Renewal of my Disneyland annual passport. Not that complicated. I already did ask my parents for this gift but it’s still up in the air.
• Borders gift card. I haven’t bought manga in a while due to lack of moneys. So this would be helpful to get caught up on my favorite series.
• Special edition Box sets of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2,3,and 4 I already have 1.
• Cardcaptor Sakura Box sets. Clow book and Sakura Book. Can be found at Anime club in the Tyler mall in riverside. Amazon is crazy and wants too much for each.
• An ipod or Zune. I’m leaning toward the Zune. It’s cuter and cheaper!
• A new sewing machine. I’m not sure which are good but I’ve taken an interest in making my own outfits and costumes. I did make my Halloween costume in one night but it would have been better if my sewing machine wasn’t older than me.
• A Shiatsu Massage cushion. ~drool~
• A heated matteres pad. Shawn has one, it’s like the best invention ever! Makes the bed warm for you, so on cold nights it would be quite helpful!

I can’t really think of anything else, but keep in mind i’m not saying that if you don’t get me something from this list i’ll be sad. I’m saying this as a hint! These are things that if i don’t get now that just means i’m gonna have to save up and get them later myself!! This is a list for those of you who have absolutely no idea what to get me~ oh and for my normal readers… don’t think you have to get me presents, i’m e-mailing this to my family~ so this is more of a random personal post~

Pretty much a good song and I love the animation. Fate/Stay Night is one of those series that I loved even though it’s not the best series out there. I have more Figures from this series that any other series. I love the upbeat tempo of this song, Disillusion even though it was a beautiful song felt off, plus I preferred This Illusion over Disillusion.

This is one of the songs that the song itself isn’t all that great, but mixed in with the tone of the series and the animation of the foods it makes it amazing.

13. “Duvet” – Boa

This is the only song in my entire list that completely in English, I do love this song. It gives me chills every time I hear it and that is hard to do. When I hear this song it’s very hard for me to not completely break out into song and sing along.

Who knew Amaing grace could sound so cool? Even though all of the Eureka seveN songs were amazing this one left a strong impression on me.

11. “Super Shooter” – RIP SLYME

It’s just badass what more can I say? I’m not a fan of Rap but j-rap just sounds so much better in my head I guess. I would have a figure from Gantz if they weren’t all so shitty, I’d prefer a Figure with the full body gantz suit than the slutty ones where it’s only like pieces of the suit. I really liked the show but considering that the manga is still ongoing in japan it didn’t really have a proper ending.

10. “Colors of the Heart” – UVERworld

UVERworld by far my most favorite J-pop band ever. I was first introduced to them from the Bleach Opening D-technolife. But Colors of the Heart Made a lifetime fan, the song fit the show, plus the animation was amazing. I loved how they went with a completely different animation style for the Opening than for the actual series.

9. “Itoshii Kakera” – Melocure

I’ve always liked the Cutesty kind of songs that came from anime openings. But this song is one the likes to pop up on my playlist every once in a while and I just really love it. For this series this song was absolutely perfect.

8. “Bouken Deshou Deshou?” – Hirano Aya

I’m a fan of Hirano Aya but not a die hard fan. But still this song was pretty awesome, Maybe not as great as the insert songs from this series but thats for my next list.

7. “Tenshi no Yubikiri” – Fukuda Mai

I love how this Series used the Manga for animation style. You can clearly see in even the Opening that most of it is just pieces of the manga in a collage style animation.

6. “Dogfight” – Move

This song was a hard choice, between Noizy tribe, Around the world, Break in 2 the nite, and Blazin’ beat. But in the end Dogfight won, not only was the animation amazing but I can’t picture any other artist than Move for an Initial D opening. HAVE YOU SEEN THE DUB OPENING!!? It’s REALLY BAD!! Now I admit I don’t know much about cars, but the music from Initial D always makes me want to go down a mountain and race someone. Did I also mention that this show made me want a White RX-7 FC really really badly?

5. “Lucy” – Anna Tsuchiya

I’m a die hard Anna Tsuchiya fan, so this song is of course on this list. I cried when I saw her live in concert at AX. Thats pretty sad, but then i bet 53rg10 would have done the same at the SOS Brigade Invation Tour (well maybe not cry but you get the idea.) Lucy solidified my fangirlism to Anna Tsuchiya. Anna Tsuchiya really has the perfect tone for Nana in this series, and I feel if they used a different person to do the singing for the Black Stones the series wouldn’t have felt the same.

4. “Sora iro Days” – Nakagawa Shouko

There was no way in hell I wasn’t going to have a Gurren Laggan song on this list. I do think i’m going to have to see this series again in a few days, I’m going through Gurren Laggan withdrawals. But seriously this song is great, this series was just plain Epic and this song is the perfect fit for it.

3. “Sore Ga, Ai Deshou” – Shimokawa Mikuni

Now this was a hard choice, It was a complete toss up between all three FMP Openings. I love them all so much and they each fit the series perfectly. But in the end I realize this song makes me sing along more than the rest, every time I hear this song I get the urge to just watch this series for the 90 millionth time.

2. “Catch you Catch me” – Gumi

It’s rare for me to sit through the Opening of a series every time I see an episode. I’ll maybe watch it the first few times then skip through it for the rest of the series. Catch you Catch me was different, I truly watched this opening every time I saw an episode of Card Captor Sakura. The animation drew me in, plus the song was just perfect for the tone of the series. Yes platinum and Tobira wo Akete are amazing songs but I just ending skipping them once the episode started.

1. “Hemisphere” – Maaya Sakamoto

I’m one of the rare people who actually likes both Rahxephon and Evangalion, they both were one of the few series I first watched. I think I can honestly say Rahxephon was the 4th series I ever saw. This song helped get me into Anime music and j-pop it was an important start but not the first song to get me interested in anime music thats for my insert song list. Sorry all you platinum fans this is my favorite Mayaa Sakamoto song.

Note that as well Two are by the same Seiyuu, he’s my favorite seiyuu ever! Two are covered in tattoos, two are red-heads, two have plenty of scars and one looks kinda like my boyfriend but punk and not as manly.

Sagara Sousuke
Anime: Full Metal Panic (2002)

Well Full Metal Panic was one of the first anime I ever really saw. It was right when I was just getting into anime, after I saw Neon Genesis Evangalion, Outlaw Star, and Chobits. I was just starting out in the anime scene not having seen many shows I mostly went off of my brother’s taste in anime. (I wasn’t allowed to download anything so he had to do it for me and so instead of looking for something myself I just watched what he had already had in his collection.) Sousuke was a character i fell in love with, his quirkiness, and definitely his way of saving the day. The way he does love Kaname but doesn’t really know how to express it. He was always a favorite of mine.

Kamina
Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann (2007)
Seiyuu: Konishi Katsuyuki

Kamina is the epitome of a Gar Character, he’s so manly and almost full of himself but you know he’s also unsure of himself and only acts this way to bring up the moral of his troops. He’s just Kamina, there is really no other way to describe him. He’s badass, and sexy, yet playful and caring. Without Kamina there is no Gurren Lagann, this series needed him to progress, yes he got axed. But his presence did not go unnoticed, they keep referring to him and without Kamina, Simon is nothing but an orphan who can dig. Plus Body the whole Tattoos deal is awesome. Yet in real life I don’t like tattoos…

Nobuo “Nobu” Terashima

You’ll notice in most of my list are bad boys, men who are tough and kick ass. Men with scars and are manly with a sense of defending whatever they believe in. Nobu is different, he’s the sensitive type. Keep in mind this list is more of what kinda men I’d like a Harem with but Nobu is really the man I’d date and want a relationship with. He’s kind, sweet, plays the guitar, shy, and when he loves someone he loves them so much it hurts. Why Hachi went with Takumi instead of Nobu I’ll never know but she’s crazy to turn him down for that jerk.

Anime: Bleach (2004)
Seiyuu: Itou Kentarou

Renji, Renji, Renji. What more can I say he’s sexy. Who doesn’t love a fire crotch with a residing hairline who is also covered in tattoos. I don’t know I guess I’m crazy but his badass-ed-ness makes up for everything. Even though I’m actually attracted to male character with Tattoos and Red hair. Plus a big sword always helps to win over my heart. ___________________________________________________________

Gene Starwind
Anime: Outlaw Star (1998)
Seiyuu: Shibuya Shigeru

The lone outlaw, a Slacker and pervert who only wants the easy way out. But when the moment strikes he takes his destiny into his own hands and saves the day and gets the girl. Outlaw Star was one of the first anime I ever saw. Second actually, I loved this series. If it weren’t for the lightheartedness of Outlaw Star after i saw Evangalion I would never had continued to watch anime. I would have thought, that it’s all crazy mind fuck series out there. But this after this series I was hooked.

Technically I think I get one more guy in there with me. But I really can’t think of someone else who would be suitable for the list. Maybe Post time skip Simon. Maybe Ichigo from Bleach as well but I didn’t want two from the same show. Holland from Eureka Seven might have been a good choice as well. I can’t exactly choose Takahashi Ryousuke cause I really only like him for his car. So I’m quite happy with my choices.
