Ok, so for this review I’m half-assing it this time! I apologize but things have been busy and while, I have actually gotten a few new figures of my own, yet It’s been hard to find time to sit down and do another review! I’m doing my best for you! Here we have the first Sega set of Gurren Lagann figures of Yoko and Nia.

As we should all know by now, Sega’s quality in these figures isn’t really up there. But with a retail price of 1,500 yen you can’t expect the best quality figures. That being said I love Nia’s eyes! They got them spot on! Her hair is lacking in the blue undertones, here it looks even a bit green and doesn’t have enough of the blue we come to expect with Nia. Her pose is generic and isn’t too spectacular. Some hiccups in the paint and the sculpt is sub-par, but again for such a low price you can’t expect the best.

With Yoko here I feel they got her body proportions a little off, but then most figure companies tend to change her body type per figure and she never looks exactly the same. Her pose, like Nia’s, is also quite boring and generic and doesn’t really scream “badass girl with a gun” when you see her, heck she doesn’t even come with a gun! I feel they got her eyes done well but something about her smile is awkward as is her eyebrows, giving her a confused look when you look carefully. One thing that bugs me with this Yoko figure is they don’t seem to do much with her long hair, it just drops down next to her and doesn’t flow or have a feeling of movement. I also wish they would have picked a better color for her hair, standing next to my other Yoko figures her hair seems to be almost too red.

With both figures if it weren’t for the fact that I’m just a huge fangirl I would never have bothered. I have very few Sega figures since the quality is just so little/non-existent. The few figures from Sega I own are figures characters I truly love like Sakura and Tomoyo from Card Captor Sakura. So owning the Yoko and Nia figures isn’t a stretch for someone like myself who likes to go after owning them as well! Would I recommend them to anyone? Only if they really wanted a Yoko or Nia figure for cheap, and even then I’d still say to just save your money and get the Uplark Nia for if you want a Nia figure and for Yoko there are so many other figures much worthy of your hard earned money.

The Loaned Figures series continues! This time it’s a figure that I must get my hands on! A figure that even with my obsession of Yoko I was apprehensive on getting her myself but all those worries have melted away with seeing her in person!

Real Image Yoko by Max Factory, a figure that i saw and said YUCK! I didn’t like her face, her body proportions at all! I felt that i might get her and have her in the background of my wall of Yoko figures.

Yet seeing her in person I’m blown away completely! I feel that I just didn’t give this Yoko a chance when she really deserved a chance from me!

I first felt her face was awkward, but now seeing her in the flesh, her eyes are my favorite part! They just are so bright and so sexy! Something just makes you want to look at her and nothing else!

The glasses look amazing and you change it out by changing out her hair piece, which is good so that way you don’t just lose a little piece!

I also have to say her body is killer! While it would obviously have to be since she’s Yoko, the real life proportions make her look even better!

Makes you feel that this is what someone would look like if they cosplayed her well!

Love how she holds the gun! Also love how you don’t have to put the gun in her hands, I’ve broken my fair share of guns trying to get them into the right place!

I definitely need this Yoko for my Yoko collection! She’s so stunning and amazing and for sure a MUST GET for any fan of Yoko!

This is my 17th Yoko now, while I officially have 18 Yoko figures now i’m on a huge backlog of figures to review and have had such little time or energy to focus on them sadly. But I’ll do my best to get caught up for you!

I’ve never been the biggest Kotobukiya fan, they poses or sculpts aren’t always that amazing or stellar and the quality can be a bit under par at times.

But for some reason when they release a figure that’s 1/6 scale they go all out and suprise me with the wonderful quality they are.

Not anything naughty, only showing you the detail on her pants! ^_~

The body proportions are very nice. Love the ripped up thigh highs.

Without her gun she looks a tad bit akward but then with the gun it covers up so much of her amazing sculpt.

She’s got some great legs!

The Winking face is just so adorable, but i’m partical to the original face she comes with, if only I could get another Yoko so I could have her displayed with both faces!

I just adore this smile!

Boota is awesome as well!

Love the detail on her boots the wrinkles of the boot that go along with the curve of her foot.

The gun is really awesome, it can be changed into the smaller tommy gun version from the movie but I didn’t do it for this shoot… Sorry.

I Love Boota on this figure, there needs to be more love for Boota!

Does she know my secret? Is that why she’s winking at me?

You can also change her Hair clip, to a winking mode or crazy eye mode. Here is winking mode!

Yokoopai, I love the tied swimsuit top look, so much more sexier!

For those like me who like backs, love the curve of her back in this figure!

I love the lack of a buttcrack, i know her pants are really love, but really i don’t like buttcrack on my figures, nothing sexy about a buttcrack!

Love her hair as well, such a perfect red for Yoko, plus the flowing movement of it really does add so much to the sculpt!

I don’t know if I keep saying this it’ll loose it’s meaning but this has got to be one of my newest favorite Yoko figures that I own so far. It seems that they figure companies just want to keep topping one another and people like me are reaping all the benefits! She really is at least in my personally opinion one of the best Kotobukiya figures i’ve ever come to own! I’ve own my fair share of Kotobukiya figures but I’ve sold off a big majority of them due to lack in Quality. Lately while I still love Yoko just as much i’ve been getting a tad bit picky on my Yoko orders, only for my lack of funds at the moment due to lack of employment which hopefully will change for the better soon enough! For any and all Yoko fans this is a MUST GET! Just a lovely face, great pose, nice gun and great rack! She’s an overall amazing Yoko figure to have in your collection!

Random reader: “ANOTHER YOKO! Seriously Dancing Queen! You need to stop! Enough is enough! There is a point when it becomes crazy! There comes a time when 16 Yoko figures are far too many”

ME: HA! I’ll never stop getting all the Yoko figures I can get!

Again as usual another Yoko, this time it’s the Lottery prize B Banpresto Yoko. She’s a hard one to track down but i got my hands on her for a pretty penny through eBay. Was she worth it? Read on to find out!

Cute face, Dynamic pose, love the base and how it’s her trademark skull clip.

I love the open mouth and teeth, her Yoko-opai are very cute as well.

The paint overall is well done, not any parts on her that are poorly painted.

As I mentioned the cute base and well detailed shoes, love the zipper!

Now here comes the complaining parts. Love at that curve of her back, NO WAY CAN HER BACK BEND LIKE THAT AND NOT BE BROKEN! Really it’s a 90 degree angle! while it does give her more of a dynamic pose this way and makes her Butt look amazing it really isn’t at all realistic, even for an anime figure.

When you look at her from the angle that you see that bend in her back she really looks very strange.

Favorite shot of this set, really an experimental shot and i’m glad how it came out.

I really do like her gun, it’s not hard to mess that up but then it’s possible.

While I did have my complaints, as usual I still love her. Of course once again we all know my legendary bias towards Yoko and how she can do no wrong. So as always i’ll give the same recomendations I have been giving out. Love Yoko almost as much as me? Get your hands on this figure, she’s a rare one and a bit pricey but really a figure no Yoko fan should be without! Kinda iffy on Yoko but want a good figure of her? Try Gift Yoko, Enterbrain Yoko, Up-lark Yoko, or Alter Yomako Sensei. There are also some Amazing figures that are out that I have yet to get like the Kotobukiya Yoko you can see from Happy Soda or the yet to be released Bounty Hunter Yoko from Alter, She’ll be the Yoko to get!

Do I ever think i’ll stop getting Yoko figures? Not any time soon, still have tons more Yoko figures on order! It’s the first time that i’m not getting tired of getting figures of just one character. There is something special about each Yoko figure that I just can’t help but then them all! Will it Interfere with my regular collecting? Not at all as well! Still getting many Non-Yoko figures so it’s been a bit of a stretch to get them all but nothing shall stop me!

I’m not the kind to do a loot post, but this Anime Expo was a Gurren Lagann Fangirl’s dream come true! I got so much stuff it doesn’t all fit into one picture! As you can see by the Gurren Dan Flag it’s signed, by Gurren Lagann director Imaishi Hiroyuki and Gurren Lagann Character Designer Nishigori Atsushi! This is now my pride and joy and my new goal is that when they bring anyone related to Gurren Lagann to have them sign this Flag for me!

Tons of Keychains, seems i want to break the ignition on my car again >_< I’ll just make sure to pull the Keys when driving so the weight doesn’t break my car again. Also a Yoko Skull change purse, and two and you can see two skull pins, one is a pin, the other is a hair clip. Oh course i had to get both! Also the Yoko Patch, gonna have to make an awesome Yoko jacket to put that on!

Got the Glass set! Couldn’t pass those up! Also the Core Drill neckace which will never leave my neck! Also a cute Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee Mug.

I only got figures that were on my list of wished list. Saw Char at the Toylet booth and couldn’t pass her up! I bought Char on the last day and really wonder why no other self respecting figure collector didn’t snatch her up before me? Also got the very sexy Chu Chu Astram from Toylet as well. Got my hands on the Ouka-Chan Nendoroid at a booth that was selling her for cheap since her box was a bit banged up, but she wasn’t damaged so i couldn’t pass up that deal. The terrible Sailor Moon dolls are only for the nostalgic factor, I used to own those exact dolls when I was younger but lost them some time ago, I was able to get all three for a good price as well! Also Max Factory’s Hinata Himawari who i got from Anime King for $20 and Alter’s Hitotsubashi Yurie that i’ve been looking for, forgot where i got her but she was  good price at $40.

Some badass Gurren Lagann towels which really came in handy when we ran out of clean towels in our hotel!

Only Detroit Metal City Merchandise i could find! A Krauser No-ren curtain (no ideea where i’ll hang it) and some awesome keychain plushies!

Got a Gurren Lagann shirt and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to own Simon’s Jacket! I’m gonna be wearing this jacket everywhere! Thanks to my big brother for getting me the most badass jacket the world has seen! Also some art from the artist alley. I almost never buy anything from the artist alley but really something about the eyes on Yoko and Nia just called to me and I had to get them!

This poster was actually a gift from my friend Evan, I told him how a big Gurren Lagann fan I was and he had his poster with him from last year, this was a giveaway poster they had at the bandai booth that I missed out on last year. Gonna laminate this and find a place to put it since my walls are all full now :’(

And my prized purchase this year at Anime Expo again came from the Toylet booth. The amazing Yoko Towel, no way can i use her and get her all dirty! So instead she’s hung up in my bathroom! See i’m so otaku even my bathroom is being filled with amazing Otaku Goodies! Now to convince my parents to let me hang up posters in the rest of the house!

Got a new Yoko in the mail today, it’s Gift’s Yoko and she is just stunning. She’s #12 in my ever growing army of Yoko figures, with no stopping in sight. I also have to say that as of now of all the Yoko figures i own i think this Yoko is my new favorite!

Not only is shequite large at 1/5 scale, but she is well proportioned as well for being such a large scaled figure.

This Yoko might be my biggest figure to date. When i compare her to the 1/5 Movic Yoko i notice how that Yoko’s legs are quite long for her body and she isn’t as proportioned as this lovely Yoko.

Also love the tone of red they’ve given her for her hair. Many Yoko figures tend to have a more pinkish tone in their hair. While this lovely Yoko had a more deep red tone of red that fits her original design.

Very Nice, High Five! Her Yoko-oopai also are very well designed and look more like how boobs look like in real life. My complaint with Movic’s yoko saggy boobs are that even though a woman with breasts that big would get saggy, a 14 year old wouldn’t have saggy boobs. She’s have nice perky ones since she is so young! Trust me on this, I’m a girl! I’d know!

I’ve had plenty of people ask me which is my favorite Yoko, and i’m gonna have to say it’s this darling girl. She’s quite large and a bit pricey but absolutely worth every penny. It’s figures like this that make me adore what i do and collecting figures as a whole. When you get something as amazing and dazzling as Yoko, it’s worth all the money spent! Don’t have a Yoko yet? This is one to get!

She’s gorgeous, she’s amazing, she’s sexy and wonderful. Yet no way can I pay 66,000 yen for her. I need to win the lottery, or find me a really rich man.

While i never wanted a Dolfie before, the moment i heard of this amazing Yoko Dolife i knew i had to have her. I don’t have the money to make the pre-order and hopefully I’ll be able to find someone later who sells her and while I’ll pay much more at least maybe I’ll have the time to save up. Unless there is a kind soul out there who is generous enough to buy a poor girl like me this amazing Dolife. She would be the perfect addition to my Yoko Army and it feels like i’ll be missing a critical part of the Collection if i don’t have her. Lets hope things turn around and i can afford her somehow soon. Pics from Dolife Blog there are also pictures of the Nia Dolife, but something seems very off. While her eyes are perfect they don’t seem to work on her. Yet Yoko looks just amazingly delicious! You can order your own Yoko at either the Volks International site or Volks USA. Oh and if anyone decides to buy Yoko for me, i might be temped to marry you! Since you’d have to be rich!

Showing off my Gurren Lagann figure collection that i have so far. So far the count is Eight Yokos, One Kamina, One Simon/Lagann, and two Kotobukiya Models. It’s still not as epic as it should be but i do have more coming, with 11 Yoko’s pre-ordered and 2 Nia figures.

I get people linking me different Yoko figures and asking me if I’m going to get them, so I decided to clear it up a bit. While I love Yoko I won’t be getting any resin kits from E2046.com or gashapons. I try and get any figures that are Scaled PVCs and if they are Japan only now that I’ve discovered Tenso.com looks like I’ll be able to get my hands on more Yoko figures.

I’ve done a review of everything shown here other than the Kotobukiya Models and the Kaiyodo Fraulien Revoltech.You can find all my reviews here. I might do a review later of the Fraulien Revoltech, but not the Models since those need to be painted and I can’t paint at all sadly… While i’m still getting Yoko figures I’m still up for getting other characters. Of course anything Kamina, Simon, Dary, Nia anyone really! I’m a sucker for my Gurren Lagann Merch!

I knew this day would come, the that someone would release a figure of Yoko that stunned me so much that I wouldn’t order her. I had made myself a vow to own every possible Yoko figure made, and it seems that this Yoko may make me break that vow.

Based off this image it was a good idea. It’s a cute version of Yoko, very cute and innocent. Yet seems like they weren’t able to stay true to the original image.

Looks like instead they went with a “deer in the headlights” look. They could have done an amazing job with her and it seems more like a rush job to me, Now i say “might not get” since maybe, just maybe the final version will be much much better. Lets hope so i can keep getting all the Yoko figures!

Here i finally got my hands on Eye up’s Yoko, she is truly worth the money i spent on her. This is now Yoko #4 (ouch) of my quest to obtain every Yoko figure made. 4 down 9 to go.

This Yoko this is a Yoko I’ve been eagerly awaiting for a while. the moment i knew she wsa getting a PVC release i knew i had to get her. For Yoko figures it’s hard to claim a favorite since each one is awesome in it’s own right.

Now i have to warn you i took a lot of pictures.

Normally it’s easy for me to remove pictures as i go along and make them smaller for my site.

This time it was harder since Yoko is so awesome. Even boota is awesome! He’s got the best seat in the house!

Such a big gun! I love how she can hold it like it weighs nothing, a real gun would weigh SO MUCH!!!

Lots of brush around her, i was planing on shooting here somewhere else but there was a fence casting down a nasty shadow on the ground. But i think it ended up looking better this way.

When Yoko came out some people were talking about this bulge, but i have to say in person it doesn’t look bad.

It’s got to be something with the shading that in film it looks bad, but in person it doesn’t stand out as much as it does here.

Her hair also looks just amazing with how it looks just windblown

For some reason her scarf is removable

i don’t know why they would make it removable but it doesn’t look bad. I just prefer scarf.

This is the original image this figure is based on, they stayed quite try to the original design! Only thing that is different is how they added Boota.

hands down this Yoko is truly amazing. If you wanted her but weren’t to sure on it trust me she’s worth every hard earned penny. the paint is flawless, no noticeable seam lines.I really don’t see any problems with her, other than her thigh highs are a bit shiny but it’s not too bad. Her dynamic pose just makes your eye look at her first when you see all my Yoko figures together. Now out of the 14 Yoko figures that have been announced, released and up for pre-order i currently own 4. I’m still on the road to get them all (Gotta catch them all!)
