I’ve never been a huge fan of Kotobukiya, when I first got into collecting figures I purchased quite a few Kotobukya figures but then sold them all since they were so horrible. I was enticed by their low price but only realized later their quality was lacking. It’s been a while since I have been fully following Kotobukiya and they keep surprising me with quality releases. Mostly I see them on my friend’s figures but more I’m starting to want to jump on the bandwagon again and get more Koto releases! Now Kotobukiya’s blog has put up preview pictures of Rufina

This Rufina is easily the best Kotobukiya figure of the Shining hearts series I’ve seen yet. Hands down she’s a stunner!

She’s absolutely lovely and I hope to one day be able to review her, still saving money for Saber Extra, Which you can help me with btw! I’m selling adorable handmade plushies! Ok enough with the shameless advertising Rufina is just elegant and such a stunning figure. Will you be getting your own?

Again Kotobukiya has me astounded in the amazing quality work they are producing as of late. This figure is again, another one that I passed up on and now regret. She’s sexy, in a great pose, I LOVE the character! Good thing she belongs to the boyfriend, i get to see her as much as i want when I go visit!

Love the test plugsuit, it’s so sexy, recently saw the Bluray of the movie, saw it in the theaters but the bluray was just amazing, Love Asuka in this plugsuit!

Fun perk? put a black light on her and parts of the suit glow!

You can see how thin Asuka is, you can see her ribs!

oh I see crack! How is it with figures it’s sexy but on real people it’s never sexy…

While their design has always been quite thin, it doesn’t always translate well to figures and I felt that they did an awesome job of keeping her small frame yet making her feel voluptuous .

Her face is also so cute and this figure reminds me so much of Gift 1/5 Yoko in the style of on her knees putting her hair up.

This figure honestly went completely under my radar, I didn’t even know she existed till my boyfriend brought her to the studio where we film AX Live. He had purchased her before we even met and when he asked me about her I didn’t know what figure he was talking about. Once I saw her in person I was just blown away by Kotobukiya’s work. As mentioned they are surprising me with this jump in Quality. It used to be quite difficult for me to recommend someone buy a Kotobukiya figure, but they have me eating my words, which is quite rare!

Dark Magician Girl from Yugioh! Not my figure but I’m very much regretting not getting her for myself. As you may all know, long ago i stopped buying figures based on character only and got them based on pose, sculpt and overall cuteness. I sadly passd up on this figure due to lack of funds, but Love her!

She comes with two interchangeable faces, a cute sexy winking face and a moe cute stare.

She’s cute without the hat but it leaves a huge hole in the back of her head where the hat snaps into, not a well designed choice there but then how many times do you look at the back of your figure’s head?

She’s very cute and very well made, as mentioned before Kotobukiya has been climbing up the ranks in my book as of late. In the past I’ve had figures from them that were so lackluster and just not worthy of my collection. Lately they are releasing amazing figures that I would kill to own, like this Dark Magician Girl. It’s still hard to recommend Kotobukiya figures in general, but certain ones are amazing and for sure I’d recommend this figure to anyone! borrowed this figure from the Boyfriend and I really appreciate him lending me figures to review when he knows I’ve been not having as many new figures as of late! Thanks!

Once again we have another Loaned figure, this time the amazingly stunning Octavia from Tears to Tiara. I had never seen her in person and she is just lovely and has such an amazing movement.

Love her vibrant colors and her pose full of movement.

Interchangeable arms, so she can either hold her sword or have it sheathed and be reaching for it.

Her blue eyes just pop since there isn’t anything else that’s blue on either the figure or the background I choose.

The purple detail on her scarf is very lovely and really adds that something special.

Oh this is something I haven’t shown in quite a while! A panty shot!

Such an exciting figure with an exhilarating pose with a flowing movement! Action poses are hard to master and sometimes you get them right and with Octavia I feel they did well with the flow of this figure and the colors are just spot on.

I said I’d do my best to continue updating you guys with new figures! Again more with the Loaned Figure series. Next up is another Kotobukiya Beauty Uesugi Kenshin from The Visual Novel Sengoku Rance.

Uesugi is for sure one of those figures that I had passed on but once I saw out of the box regretted immediately not getting her when she was originally released.

Such a lovely face, and big blue eyes that draw you in, it was hard not just stare at her. If I owned her I know she’d be sitting on my desk, she’s just too pretty to not want to always look at her.

Love her flowing hair, I’m not usually a fan of the way Kotobukiya does of hair but it works so well with Uesugi here.

She comes with a pointy hat, I’m not exactly sure what it is but I’m torn between the hat. I love and hate it at the same time.

I hate the hat since it draws too much attention away from her beautiful face and lovely dress.

It was pouring rain this past weekend, but that didn’t stop me from doing an outdoor shoot with this figure who really deserved having her own backdrop.

Luckily water doesn’t damage figures, but you gotta be sure to clean them up after wards or you can get water spots that are hard to remove later.

Now without the hat, it seems that there is something missing from her head. So I tend to prefer the hat but at the same time I wish it weren’t at such a dramatic point.

You can switch out her bow for a smaller bow as well, but I felt it was lacking and only did pictures with the big bow and her hat.

Not many full body shots, that’s my fault for not realizing they were blurry until way later in post production of of Photo Shoot. She comes with a small Diamond shaped base that doesn’t distract  from her at all. It’s in a transparent Dark blue and fits well with her, It’s a bit plain but overall does it’s job well.

Uesugi is just an overall stunning figure, I’ve got plenty more figures that I reviewed that are coming, but Uesugi is hands down one of the big surprises and favorites of this past weekends figures. I was blown away by how amazing she was in person and know that out of all the figures I got to see she is one I must get my hands on one day!

More loaned figures for me, I’ve got some great friends and this past Saturday my good friend Daniel brought over tons of figures for me to take pictures of for review! First off we’ve got the lovely Kotobukiya Riannon from Tears To Tiara.

Now I haven’t purchased a Kotobukiya Figure other than the Kotobukiya Yoko in a long time. Part of me felt their quality was lacking but Daniel has shown me otherwise with these new figures of his.

He’s a huge fan of Kotobukya figures, not only for the figure quality but for there price. They tend to be a tad cheaper than some of the other major figure companies out now.

The detail and color on this amazing Riannon figure is just stunning!

Her ensemble is just so adorable!

Such a beautiful flow to her clothes, so natural and smooth.

Even the coins on her sash are so intricate and detailed!

Awesome design on the staff!

I have to say, I’m very much sold on this figure! Once I get some funds back up again I’m so getting my own to be in my collection!

Her hat is also magnetic and stays on really well!

Such a cute face!

I’m glad to have been able to get the chance to get my hands on Riannon, She’s lovely and stunning and I doubt I would have had a chance otherwise. It’s nice to see other people’s figures and see and understand what beauty they see with those figures. Even after I’m able to get back on my feet and review my own figures, I’ll continue this series of Loaned Figures since it’s giving me a chance to get my hands and see what other figures are out there that I may have missed myself! Would i have purchased this figure beforehand? No. But now after seeing her in person, holding her and getting to take in every angle of her? YES!

This is my 17th Yoko now, while I officially have 18 Yoko figures now i’m on a huge backlog of figures to review and have had such little time or energy to focus on them sadly. But I’ll do my best to get caught up for you!

I’ve never been the biggest Kotobukiya fan, they poses or sculpts aren’t always that amazing or stellar and the quality can be a bit under par at times.

But for some reason when they release a figure that’s 1/6 scale they go all out and suprise me with the wonderful quality they are.

Not anything naughty, only showing you the detail on her pants! ^_~

The body proportions are very nice. Love the ripped up thigh highs.

Without her gun she looks a tad bit akward but then with the gun it covers up so much of her amazing sculpt.

She’s got some great legs!

The Winking face is just so adorable, but i’m partical to the original face she comes with, if only I could get another Yoko so I could have her displayed with both faces!

I just adore this smile!

Boota is awesome as well!

Love the detail on her boots the wrinkles of the boot that go along with the curve of her foot.

The gun is really awesome, it can be changed into the smaller tommy gun version from the movie but I didn’t do it for this shoot… Sorry.

I Love Boota on this figure, there needs to be more love for Boota!

Does she know my secret? Is that why she’s winking at me?

You can also change her Hair clip, to a winking mode or crazy eye mode. Here is winking mode!

Yokoopai, I love the tied swimsuit top look, so much more sexier!

For those like me who like backs, love the curve of her back in this figure!

I love the lack of a buttcrack, i know her pants are really love, but really i don’t like buttcrack on my figures, nothing sexy about a buttcrack!

Love her hair as well, such a perfect red for Yoko, plus the flowing movement of it really does add so much to the sculpt!

I don’t know if I keep saying this it’ll loose it’s meaning but this has got to be one of my newest favorite Yoko figures that I own so far. It seems that they figure companies just want to keep topping one another and people like me are reaping all the benefits! She really is at least in my personally opinion one of the best Kotobukiya figures i’ve ever come to own! I’ve own my fair share of Kotobukiya figures but I’ve sold off a big majority of them due to lack in Quality. Lately while I still love Yoko just as much i’ve been getting a tad bit picky on my Yoko orders, only for my lack of funds at the moment due to lack of employment which hopefully will change for the better soon enough! For any and all Yoko fans this is a MUST GET! Just a lovely face, great pose, nice gun and great rack! She’s an overall amazing Yoko figure to have in your collection!

Showing off my Gurren Lagann figure collection that i have so far. So far the count is Eight Yokos, One Kamina, One Simon/Lagann, and two Kotobukiya Models. It’s still not as epic as it should be but i do have more coming, with 11 Yoko’s pre-ordered and 2 Nia figures.

I get people linking me different Yoko figures and asking me if I’m going to get them, so I decided to clear it up a bit. While I love Yoko I won’t be getting any resin kits from E2046.com or gashapons. I try and get any figures that are Scaled PVCs and if they are Japan only now that I’ve discovered Tenso.com looks like I’ll be able to get my hands on more Yoko figures.

I’ve done a review of everything shown here other than the Kotobukiya Models and the Kaiyodo Fraulien Revoltech.You can find all my reviews here. I might do a review later of the Fraulien Revoltech, but not the Models since those need to be painted and I can’t paint at all sadly… While i’m still getting Yoko figures I’m still up for getting other characters. Of course anything Kamina, Simon, Dary, Nia anyone really! I’m a sucker for my Gurren Lagann Merch!

Since I’ve seen Utawarerumono I wanted Eruruu and Aruruu figures. Sadly i’ve only been able to get Aruruu in this search for the two. Aruruu here is so adorable but sadly she’s lonely for her onee-chan…

I’m still on the search but Eruruu but can’t find her anywhere. Other than ebay for $150! way too much!

For once this is a Kotobukiya figure that i have NO COMPLAINTS abuot. I’ll be the first to admit that i don’t like Kotobukiya figures much but sometimes they do surpass my expectations.

Cute ears, the girls in the world of Utawarerumono are so cute!

Aruruu is one of the rare figures that I’m so happy i purchased. She’s been made so well and detailed from her shows to her hair. No noticeable seam lines, no paint hiccups, then folds of her clothes are done so nicely, her adorable expression, nothing was overlooked. I just ask you fellow figure collectors, if you ever happen to spot Kotobukiya’s Eruruu for a decent price, let me know. I’ve been looking for her forever now and have yet to spot her for a price that won’t kill my wallet too badly. But if you have Eruruu and have been debating getting her imouto, I suggest you do it for she is so adorable hard to pass up!
