This is my 4th purchase through Danny Choo’s Classifieds. Well Technically i bought it through Tsuki-board, but I did find out about tsuki-board member kaiyouske from a Danny Choo Classifieds post. I’ve been wanting this Mai figure since Anime Expo ’06. i first saw a booth that had her for sale at $50. I even remember telling my friend Casey that $50 was way too much for a figure and that she wasn’t worth it. Boy did that way of thinking change.

Mai Hime is a favorite series of mine, i still cry at the end of the series each time i re-watch it. Sadly for such an amazing figure there weren’t many figures made other than this beauty and Kotobukiya’s Mai, which i ended up getting a bootleg off long time ago.

After i realized the Kotobukiya Mai i had was fake i decided i needed to track down the Max Factory version of her.

Sadly she was very hard to find at any place other than eBay which not only do i not have an eBay account, but also don’t trust eBay much anymore.

I realized the other day that my favorite figure company has to be Max Factory. There is really a time that they release a figure that i don’t like.

Small base, very nice considering my shelves are getting filled up again. So it wasn’t a problem figuring out where to put her.

Lately i’ve been focused on getting my hands on the figures on my wished list. I have all the figures that are coming out that i want on pre-order so with my extra money I’m trying to track down all these figures that i’ve always wanted.

I can’t stress how awesome the Danny Choo Classifieds are for finding rare and awesome figures. Some people just might not like a figure and one person’s trash is another person’s wonderful wonderful Mai!

Still have a few more figures coming in from the last person i bought from, many impulse buys but still amazing awesome figures.

I love getting older figures lately, makes me feel like I’m filling my collection with more quality figures.

She does have some seam lines on her legs

Plus a nasty seam line on her vest as well. But i can totally live with small problems like that since i adore Mai.

She’s pretty big compared to the rest of my figures, i have mostly 1/8 scale figures so a 1/6 towers over them. But then it does help you spot her easier when you look into my room.

I’m so glad i got Mai, she’s jumping up there in my favorite figures list. Max Factory never stops amazing me, even when it comes to older figures and how they stack up in quality compared to newer figures released now. The only way they could have made this figure much better was adding the rings around her arms but then that would have been difficult to pull off. But it would have been very cool as well! Thanks again to Tsuki-board member kaiyouske for selling me Mai. He’s still selling off the rest of the figures listed there so check them out he’s selling them for great prices and shipped it out fast as well.

Would you be a waitress if you had to where an outfit like this? I know i would! i’d be the first one in the door applying to see if they’d hire me! I don’t know what it is that would really make me want to work in a place like this! Maybe the fact that tips would be great! But i think it would be a total blast to go to work in an outfit like that!

I used to be a waitress/cashier at a small Mexican restaurant, it wasn’t that fun. My main reason for not liking the job was because the uniform was so horrible! It was a beige polo shirt and jeans. But the shirt was about 4 sizes too big, so i had the sleeves rolled up and the shirt tied up in the back, but it was so unflattering that i just wouldn’t even want to go to work! The shirt was also the most horrible material ever, it didn’t breath plus it was see through. So I had to where another shirt underneath but then I’d be melting with the heat of the kitchen!

Now i admit it might be embarrassing at first to have to wear such an outfit, but then considering that your not the only one wearing the outfit i wouldn’t mind as much. Now i’m not saying that i would just jump at the chance for short skirts and low tops, I’m not saying i’m going to go work at Hooters. These uniforms would need to be sexy, cute and above all tasteful.

In reality i think my biggest worry wouldn’t be showing too much skin, but getting my uniform dirty. I’m a bit of a klutz, but even when i did work at the restaurant i never tripped or fell like Osaka here. But i did bump into things in the kitchen from time to time. So i would get end up dirtying myself while working.

If only there were restaurants down here in southern California like this. Plus considering that i need a job i think maybe it’s more of i’ll just about take any job right now. A girl’s gotta pay for her figures somehow!

Would you go a restaurant is the waitresses dressed like this? How about a meido cafe? Do you think it would even be popular here in the U.S.? Would people deem it sexist? could it be considered family friendly? Hopefully someone opens a place like this and then we’ll find out!

I’m so sad now, this was one of the first figures i bought, my Kotobukiya 1/8 Mai Tokiha. Well i can’t really call her Kotobukiya anymore now can I? I felt bad but then i do realize this was a long time ago, when i first started collecting figures. Before i even knew they sold bootleg figures. I also got her for a great price, only $20! I didn’t know of the old saying when i comes to figures on eBay. “If it’s too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true.” I never noticed it till now since she doesn’t sit on one of my main shelves reserved for my most favorite figures. Well i’ll admit for being a fake, she’s not too bad. But then being a figure connoisseur that i am, hehe, i can’t bring myself to keep her. So i’m selling her on eBay. Now don’t worry i’m not about to list her as new, or as an original Kotobukiya. I clearly stated that she’s a knock off. Plus i’m selling her for $19. Only a $1 than what i paid for her. Hopefully someone buys her, i’m in a slump atm with cash, still no job, and the future of finding one soon isn’t looking too great.
