I’ve been staying away from getting more Haruhi figures for a while. I just wanted to complete the original set of Max Factory figures and then be done with any figures from this show. But no, Max Factory has to announce this amazing set of Haruhi, Mikuru and Yuki from the designs of the promotional posters for the Suzumiya Haurhi no Gekisou concert.

I have always loved this design of the whole gang and for them to release a figure is just awesome! Now it would also be totally awesome if Max Factory decided to release the rest of the entire gang, Tsuruya-san, Kyon, Koizumi, Asakura, Kyon’s Imouto, Taniguchi and Kunikida.

I really wanted to do the entire shoot with this background, a similar background to the recent Nendoroid Kaito post. But out of all the pictures taken this was the only one that came out nice. So i settled for the beige polka dot background instead! Btw had tons of people asking me what i used! It’s a glitter scrapbook paper thing i found at target! They ahve an awesome scrapbooking section and tons of awesome stuff that can be sued for background shoot. (maybe i shouldn’t be giving away my secrets but oh well!)

Max Factory is hands down on of my most favorite figure manufactures. The quality of their releases always finds out a way blow me out of the water with their amazing designs!

The moment she was announced i knew i had to get my hands on her. Once again Max Factory has me running to complete the set as well! I already have Mikuru who should be getting her own review soon as well. Also have Yuki Pre-ordered as well so i’ll have the whole set soon enough. Haruhi and Haruhi related figures are like Fate/Stay Night figures. I was never that interested in getting merchandise from the series or of those character but end up getting tons since they just keep releasing some amazing figures of them different unique designs. It’s hard for a figure collector not to stumble upon a Haurhi or Haruhi related character when they just keep producing such amazing beauties.

Over a year ago i debated getting this lovely Tsuruya-san figure. I had the rest of the Max Factory Haruhi set, but didn’t feel like i needed Tsuruya-san as well. Plus the fact that at that time i was jobless and broke. I regretted it soon after not getting her since she sold out rather quickly and there wasn’t a re-release announced for a while so I gave up on ever having Tsuruya-san to be with her friends. But lucky me HLJ had a sale and had Tsuruya-san on the list as well!

A Shorter post since Tsuruya-san isn’t that big and amazing and i was feeling very lazy as well. She’s not a POW kind of figrue that just screams at you, but she does add a certain something to the other Haruhi girls. A certain sense of completion that makes it just seem so much better.

She has a cute Nekomimi addition with tail and different hand. But i like her in her Human ver. instead since none of the other girls are animal-like.

Love her long green hair, that’s what stands out to me the most so since they did such an amazing job on her hair. It makes her all the more better!

Finally owning Tsuruya-san makes me want to go out complete the sets of other figures I do own. Such as char from the Shuraki set, Erruru to go with Aruruu, ChuChua Astram from ChuxChu Idol and more. Do you like completing sets? I love the feeling of completion i get when i see them all together! Now i need the Mikuru Culture Festival to double complete the set!

Now i will be the first in line to tell you I’m tired of the hype of Haruhi Suzumiya. I’m tired of all the fandom and how people are even worshiping Haruhi.Really people need to get over it already, but in all honest then I’d have to get over Gurren Lagann so much… But that’s not about to happen any time soon. So just ignore my complaints about the Haruhi madness. Now after the first Max Factory figures came out i was ecstatic. I wanted them all, but stopped after Asakura Ryoko, (I’m still missing Tsuruya-san).

But now i have to jump back onto the Haruhi Bandwagon. I have to since Max Factory has just announced the Suzumiya Haurhi No Gekisou ver. of Haruhi!

Based of these images they’ve made three amazing figures and right now Haruhi has been released. She looks so great! I had to place my order! (wonder if they’ll make the rest of the cast?)

Max Factory has always been my favorite company for figures but lately it seems they are spending too much time making figmas and not enough PVC ladies. Looks like i was wrong and they were just sending their time making AMAZING FIGURES!

Max Factory always does such an amazing job on their figures and i’m so excited for this release.

I just hope her guitar does come with strings in the final release. It would really be the cherry on top this wonder sundae.

Max Factory has dome something i thought no one could do. Make me excited about Haruhi again. Now i can’t wait for the second season…

Now i just have to wait for Yuki and Mikuru to up for pre-order, dang they look amazing!

So once again on with more Figure pictures. A bit of personal life info… My bf moved back to New York last Tuesday, so I’ve been bored a lot lately. So since i have plenty of extra time on my hands expect lots more figure shoots/reviews since i’ll have plenty of time to sit here and take pictures…

I bought this Haruhi a while back when i had more money at my disposal. Lately i don’t have $160+ to spend on one figure.

No one can deny that this is an amazing looking figure, Look at that rack!

I think one of the things i love about this figure is her stockings. Even the line on the back, I like little detail like that.

She also does happen to have a very nice backside as well.

Another thing i love is the base, the checkered pattern really does bring out something special for this figure.

Her Face is as well another feature that is to be admired. It’s spot on and looks exactly like Haruhi.

Love how they also put strings on the guitar, sadly i dropped it once and there is a part that the paint chipped off.

While i do adore this figure and she’s one of my favorites out of my entire collection there were far too many problems that i had to deal with when i purchased her. First off she arrived broken and then started to lean. It was a hassle to send her back and get a new one, and even when i did get a new one she still was broken. Plus while the quality is amazing, the price is a bit too high and there are places where the quality lacks. Her hands are missing some paint, the shading near her armpits is a bit too much. It was impossible to get her ribbons in and make them looks nice. Plus lately I’m noticing things breaking off and paint chips, things that i don’t experience with a PVC figure. In case you didn’t realize it before yes this is a resin kit… Like there are parts on the guitar that happen to be breaking now. It’s hard for me to say whether or not this figure is good. I paid so much money for the damn thing i want to think it’s the best figure there is and i did say that it’s a favorite. But at the same time i paid SO much for the damn thing I’m disappointed in it’s quality.

Now this was my experience with E2046 a while ago, i haven’t bought anything from them since lack of money but in all honesty they could be much better now in terms of quality and service so don’t use my complaints as a justification on to not buy from them. They are a good site for figure that you MUST have that no one is making PVC figures of. But If say a company such as Max Factory, Good Smile Company or Alter are making a figure and E2046 is making the same figure. Save yourself time and money and go with the PVC instead.

A new figure was announced, Alter is releasing another figure from the ever so popular Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu. This time it’s Mikuru, I’m not exactly sure If I’ll get her but I will be pre-ordering her. It’s refreshing to see a face on a Mikuru figure that is not either horrendously off compared to her anime counterpart, or the face of the Max Factory Mikuru where she doesn’t seem to be having much fun. I will just say that I honestly would have preferred to have one of her in her seifuku but it is refreshing to see her in anything thing other than the usual Mikuru Beam~ ep 13 outfit she wears. She’ll be released this June for about 5,177 yen, so since I’ve only got Siesta set for a June release I’m not too worried about having too many figures for that month. My usual limit is 3 a month, unless I get some extra moneys for the month then it’s more, but I try and keep my average at 3-a-month.

Also finally HLJ opened pre-orders for Alter’s 1/8 Siesta. I’m not so sure what is going on with HLJ, before they would have the figures out for pre-order so quickly, but lately they have been taking their sweet time putting them out on the future release page. One figure in particular that’s still not on their future release page is Movic’s Teena figure. It’s been announced for a while now, other websites have her up, but HLJ doesn’t. Now I tend to make the majority of my figure purchases with HLJ, but with HLJ taking a little longer with processing orders I’m experimenting with other companies. I’ve got Alter’s 1/8 Louise Bustier Version on pre-order through Kid Nemo, It’s my brother’s Christmas present but since I’m broke I opted to order it with them since they have it listed as not in stock till Feb, 29^th 2008. I have yet to receive a figure from them but I’m eager to see how their service compares to that of HLJ. I had also previously used Entertainment Earth for ordering my Max Factory 1/8 Kotori figure. Shipping was only $6 and she arrived relatively soon, plus I got her on sale! My only complaint is if the figures aren’t on sale they tend to charge a lot more for each figure. But then the cheap shipping does makeup for it.

Luckily Max Factory’s Fauna is still in stock; I want this figure badly but have yet to make an order, being broke sucks… I’m just hoping that I get called for this new job soon so I can start working and get paid. Fauna actually is #1 on my list of “things I need to buy once i get more moneys!” Did I mention being broke sucks? Someone did buy the fake Mai figure I had for sale. So that was a bit of help, but then eBay has decided to be awesome and send me the bill for all my fees, so all the money I made from posters, figures, and what-not is going down the drain. But then this is all the eBay fees for a while now so it’s understandable that they charge me now.

I might still get a shot at owning the Max Factory Tsuruya-san figure. She’s been pushed back to February. Is it me or does MF have a habit of pushing back their Haruhi figures? The same thing happened to Asakura Ryoko when she was up for pre-order they didn’t have in stock until about 3 months later so I was able to snag one. So hopefully for me this same pattern continues and she keeps getting pushes back until I have more money!

I’m a little broke at the moment and I’m seriously considering dropping one of my pre-orders. The main reason I bought Asakura was because I wanted the have the entire set, but now my wallet is begging me not to continue, plus there are a few other figures that i’d rather have right now over Tsuruya-san. Like the Max Factory Fauna for instance! With my current financial situation of no job, it’s a little hard for me to spend $50+ on a figure I’m just not sure I want. I will say from looking at the picture they do look amazing standing all together, but I really am not sure I can afford her now. I would rather drop it and then later hope they re-release her as they did with Yuki and Haruhi, or just hope that she doesn’t sell out. From looking at some US based stores I might be able to get her later, but she might cost me a little more. I would definitely get her if i got a job soon, or if someone would just buy my figures, but so far no luck.

Edit: Not sure if people are understanding that I’ve got Haruhi, Mikuri, Yuki and Asakura already. I’m debating on whether or not to get Tsuruya-san as well.

It was a horrible sight to see, something so wonderful broken. You pay good money to see a favorite character of yours decapitated…? Needless to say I was pissed!

I paid good money for this figure only for her to be broken!

Plus her hair is so pointy and it rested on her neck it scratched the crap out of her chest. So I e-mailed E2046 and let them know she was broken and I demanded a replacement! They did handle the transaction well, they paid for the shipping back to hong kong, No problems from them at all. But it did take them forever to send her back to me.

About three month’s later I finally got pissed and e-mailed them asking when I was going to get her back. They must have forgotten about me because they told me it would be shipped out the next day. Well it was such a hassle the first time with sending her back and getting her, that when I finally got her and she was once again headless I just didn’t care. But at least this time it didn’t scratch anything, I just glued her back and all was fine!

Until about a few days later, I noticed something dreadful…

She was leaning! I know how to fix a leaning PVC figure, but a resin figure? I wasn’t sure on how to go about it. I asked around online and it turns out no one had really seen this before. I was told it might be the pin in her foot, but it wasn’t the pin. If it’s the pin it happens while she’s on display, the force of her weight will make her lean. But if she’s a leaner from the start, then what do you do? Well considering that she cost me $150+ I wasn’t about to try the hair dyer or hot water treatment. Risk burning her or worse melting her? NO WAY! So I did the only thing I could think of doing, I ignored it.

Well it’s been 6 months since I got her, and I thought, “What the hell I’ll try the hot water treatment on her, if i ruin her of well. I can’t take this leaning anymore!” She would randomly fall over all time. I’d have a heart attack every time she’d fall! I was still afraid though…
What if the water melts her fishnets? What if It washes away the paint? What if She melts herself? So many What Ifs, I just went for it!

Now I was super extra careful but I will have to say the surgery was a success! She moved the same way a PVC figure would have in the water! Only thing was she needed to stay in the water a little longer and it needed to be a bit hotter than most PVC figures need to be.

Here is the End result! A nice non-leaning Haruhi!

1/8 Asahina Mikuru

Now I Got Mikuru first out of all my Max Factory figures. My first worry was that she may be a leaner, but its 7 months later and she’s still not leaning. What I love the most about this figure is her face, while she’s not exactly smiling or looking her happiest, this is what Mikuru looked like the majority of the show. Frightened and embarrassed from all the crazy outfits Haruhi put her in. The detail that MF puts into their figures is amazing, and you can really tell just form this figure alone. In Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu they mention that Mikuru has a small mole on her left breast, well this figure has that mole! It’s teeny tiny and unless you’ve seen the show you might not notice it. But that kinda detail is what makes Max Factory an amazing company!

1/8 Asakura Ryoko

Not my favorite character of Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu, but once I got Haruhi and Mikuru I knew I just had to have the complete set! I knew that I had to have all 5 ladies standing together on my shelf! Asakura is really well made, what I love the most is her hair. The color, the shape, the way it flows, It’s breathtaking! I also love how MF did with changing from her bag to her knife. It changes her completely! Either she’s innocent a demure just holding her school bag, or she’s plotting something very evil when she’s holding her knife.

1/8 Nagato Yuki

Now I almost missed out on Yuki, I didn’t get her the first order she came through because well, I didn’t think I needed her. I had my heart set on getting the E2046 Yuki, but I ended up canceling her since I really couldn’t afford a $100+ figure at the time. So once they decided to do a re-release of the MF Yuki I knew I had to get her. Plus I already had the pre-order in for Askura, I knew I had to get the whole set! So then Yuki came into the picture as well. I will have to say I was blown away by this figure. The promotional shots did not do her any justice. She is amazing and with the changeable torso it makes me feel like I have two different figures.

1/8 Shirakawa Kotori

Now as I mentioned I jumped on the Da Capo bandwagon a little late. I was super worried that since I did, I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on this lovely figure but lucky me I found her online and for cheap!!! She is an amazing figure and from what everyone’s comments on that post she seems to be the figure that made people take notice of Max Factory and their ability to make amazing figures. There is pretty much nothing wrong with her at all, perfect paint, amazing pose, great face. The way the folds on the seifuku just match with the way she is posed, she’s a top quality figure and I’m super proud to finally have her in my collection! Plus i love character with pink hair so even if i never did see Da Capo i might have seeked her out anyways .

1/8 Suzumiya Haruhi

Now truly this figure spawned my hatred to Atelier Sai, when you have a less than wonderful figure that cost you and arm and a leg, then you get an inexpensive work of art. You kind of get mad that you paid so much for the first one that was horrible. I at first loved my Atelier Sai Haruhi Bunny, but it was only because I had never seen anything better. Then I got my MF Haruhi, I was blown away by the detail, the paint, the face, the pose, everything this figure had that none of my other figures had. She really was the figure that made my small collection grow to the size it is now. If someone could make something so amazing I had to have more!

1/8 Van

I don’t own many male figures and that is pretty sad. I’m all for the coalition to add more male figures to Max Factory’s line up. I still have yet to see GunxSword and while this is technically my boyfriend’s figure I officially stole it from him! Well I did buy it in the first place while at Anime Expo! I’m sad though I did over pay for him by a lot. I paid $70 for him when the next day at the same booth they had him for $40. Well my boyfriend moved from one place to another and he’s been at this place for 4 months now and has yet to remove any of his figures from their boxes!! These Wonderful figures are meant to be displayed and enjoyed! If by me? Then all the better!!! So I took them all from him and set them up in my house now! So Van is on display once again and just seeing him makes me want to run out and watch GunxSword so I can fully appreciate his badassness!!!

Regrets:
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, i wished i ordered Fauna!!! She’s my only regret this year! But i’ll get her once i get a job!!!

I’m glad I ended up not dropping her pre-order! This figure is just breathtaking, it’s not so much of how pretty she is but the details. She was on and off my pre-order list from time to time. But in the end i did what i wanted to, i wanted to have all the Max Factory Haruhi Figures. So I got my Haruhi, Mikuru, and Yuki and since Asakura’s release got pushed back from September to November I was able to afford her and I ended up getting her as well.

My only complaint again is her hands, I keep feeling like i’m going to break her with the ball joint that it comes with. The knife in the one hands keeps falling out as well, nothing a little super glue can’t fix but still is quite frustrating.

My Max Factory Asakura Ryoko

As to be expected, she’s amazing. My only complaint is the way you change out her hand, instead of it being a slot that fits in perfectly, it’s a ball joint that can be pulled out. I guess it’s better this way since her bag is filled lead, this way her bag doesn’t fall out of her hand. But it’s hard to pull out. I almost broke a nail .

Then we have the lovely Nanoha

She’s pretty amazing. Great pose, good paint. Plus she wasn’t to much either, I ended up buying her from a local anime store and they tend to raise the prices on figures to make a profit. But she’s listed on HLJ as $41 and she was only $49 at the anime store, so it wasn’t a bad deal at all. I will admit she was an impulse buy, but it was a well thought out impulse!

Come on how can you say no to that face.
