Our apartment – 2016 NSFW

It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]

[Alter] – Melty Review

So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]

[Orchid Seed] – Yuki Review NSFW

Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]

Nendoroid Storage Container

I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]

$160+ For One Figure? HELL NO!

Those of you who may read my blog often may have noticed that i just recently purchased the elusive Max Factory 1/8 Naru on the Ebays for $162 (not including Shipping). While it was quite painful but the thought of owning her was just so awesome i couldn’t say no, until my brain came back to me.
WHAT WAS I THINKING? I mean hell i want this figure and badly, but if you even looked at the site it didn’t even come in its original box! I asked the seller some questions about it’s validity and she claimed that they don’t even make bootlegs of this pvc… ORLY? Cause I’ve seen my fair share of this figure on eBay as a bootleg, as well as on Yahoo Auctions Japan! The last time i paid out of my ass for a figure was when i bought the E2046 1/7 Haruhi Bunny, and even still that was painful. But that was a resin kit, someone took their time and effort to make her amazing! This is a PVC figure! Mass produced and not worth the $160+ price tag. I am however willing to pay $100 for her, but anything over that is just highway robbery! So i did what i do best… I e-mailed the seller and asked to retract my bid, offer it to the next highest bidder and she gets her money back! Even if the next highest bidder doesn’t want it, not like she won’t be able to re-list it on eBay and sell it for about the same or even more. I’m not the first dumb person in the world to ever bid really high for a figure and i won’t be the last. I has also bid for the Kotobukiya Shouko san figure, since she was so cheap… but hell there are a million bootlegs of that figure and I’m not risking it again with this seller. Plus I wasn’t really interested in this figure in the first place, she would have been more fluff for my ever growing collection. What ever happened to listening to my own advice of Quality > Quantity! Now that I’ve canceled both orders I feel so much better. But then the impulse shopper in my keeps looking at eBay auctions and KidNemo for new and exciting deals…

Lucky me there aren’t many figures out there that I HAVE TO OWN! So i’m able to cut back and save my pennies for a rainy day. And this also gives me more money to splurge for my Shugo Chara Cosplay.

Your cosplaying someone form Shugo Chara. Good anime.
Good thing you didn’t pay $160+ for a figure. When I bid of ebay, I always make sure they show the picture of the box and it unopen. I ask the seller to send pictures of their item before I bid.
Some sellers on ebay sell bootleg stuff and you have to be careful when bidding. I perfer going to sites like Hobby Link Japan to buy my figrues since I know they don’t sell bootleg stuff.
    Good luck on the cosplay!!!

Now you understand my motto of buy now regret later, except I’m usually too lazy to do anything about it once I’ve bought it lol. Still I’d be very careful on buying figures from eBay. A number of my friends have gotten many bootlegs off eBay even though I tell them it’s better to purchase from reliable sources.

u did the right thing retracting your bid. impulsive buying is dangerous indeed. especially on ebay. u don’t even know whether u are getting the real deal.

Ah yes quality > quantity. Impulsive buying is never a good idea especially on ebay. Personally i avoid ebay like the plague unless i am really desperate. Considering the seller didn’t have a box or anything u made the right choice. I have some figs in my collection that i wish i never bought due to impulsive buying. Out of my collection only one of my figs is a fake which was Tamaki Kousaka the very limited mail order one. The plus side of all this is now you got extra cash!!!

Well…. £160 is only £80 in the UK, but thats still WAYYYYY more than I’d pay right now. The most expensive figure I’ve bought so far is Akihime-chan for £37($80ish).
