Our apartment – 2016 NSFW

It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]

[Alter] – Melty Review

So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]

[Orchid Seed] – Yuki Review NSFW

Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]

Nendoroid Storage Container

I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]

Groove Vocaloid Dolls

Some very interesting dolls from the ever so popular Vocaloid series have been announced for pre-order and I’m hesitant. They look amazing but something about it is off and I think I’ll end up passing, yet something intrigues me about these dolls. Maybe it’s the large head and smaller bodies that are so similar to Nendoroids and what I adore about the Nendoroids. Maybe I don’t like them for the lifelike look of the eyes and how the head is maybe almost too big. I can’t put my finger on it.

Miku here is adorable, but something just tells me to pass on this.

For sure I wouldn’t be getting the Kagamine Twins, Rin looks so mad and frowny and that’s not really my cup of tea when it comes to figure faces. I love happy smiling faces and when you see such a cute character making such an ugly face i can’t help but pass.

Same goes for Len, It almost seems like they are doing what i refer to as the “Duck Face” when I try to look “cool” and “badass” in pictures i go for a pouty face and it ends up looking like i’m trying to look like a duck. I feel that both Len and Rin are doing just that and it’s not something for me. At round 11,600+ yen I think I’d rather save my money for something else, will you be picking these dolls up? If so why or why not? If so check out these fine retailers who should have them up for pre-order!

Kind of reminds me of those Bratz dolls. And those things were bad.

I don’t really like these. The whole style of how they’re made rubs me the wrong way. They look like Vocaloid meets Barbie-like dolls.

  3. Hickory says:

These dolls are Pullips, they always have faces like that because they’re specific characters that sometimes cosplay. They are a bit weird, but I like them. Still, I don’t that many Pullip fans who are also figure/doll character fans, so I’m not sure why Jun planning keeps having anime themed Pullips. The Eva ones were cute, though.

This dolls are pullips (miku) and the twins are dalls. I have a Shinku:

    I collect these…
    Aw hell, goodbye money.

I can’t stand Pullips, they creep me out. They just look like the sorts of things that’d come alive at night and devour you whole… or something. I know a few people that collect them here and there (and one of them most likely will get the whole Vocaloid set )… but I don’t see the beauty in them, I suppose.

So these will be three of the Vocaloid ‘figures’ that I won’t be adding to my ever-amassing army of Miku and Kagamine merch.

  7. I’ve seen a couple of Pullips in the past that I’ve liked, but have always passed since I really don’t need to start collecting dolls on top of all the other nonsense I already get.

I do like the Miku one. She has a rather sweet face and the hair looks awesome. The Kagamine twins, though? Blech. Not digging the pouty lips and angry eyes.

  8. Angel-Chan says:

Why no Luka? >A< the Miku is super cute though x3 I might get it~

i will definatly save up for one!. I’ll probely get rin since she is my fav vocaloid. I understand why people are recieving them so well, now i love Blythe and Pullip and Dollfie etc. and i accept almost any doll. Why not Miku? I dont like Miku very much and it bugs me with her long hair and small jointed body, Rin seams much more stable than Miku.
