Our apartment – 2016 NSFW

It's been not only a long time since I've posted here, but it has been a long time since I shared photos of my place. The last time you guys saw where I lived I was still living at home with my parents. It was back in 2012, so easily 4 years ago you saw my collection. Now you can see not only has my… [more]

[Alter] – Melty Review

So since I've moved into my new apartment I still hadn't set up my photography studio. Seems work has me busier than I thought I would ever be, however I took some time this past weekend to set up my studio so I could take some photos of my latest purchase, Alter's 1/8th Melty from Shining Hearts. Now… [more]

[Orchid Seed] – Yuki Review NSFW

Pre-ordered this figure the moment she was released for pre-order. I needed for for multiple reasons, she's sexy/half naked, plus while she's not Sora she reminds me of Sora from Yosuga no Sora! But she's Yuki from Maid Yome and she's pretty amazing. The only issue is her adorable mouth really looks… [more]

Nendoroid Storage Container

I recently went on a trip to a magical place, The Container Store. Ok it's not really magical, but I happen to have discovered a love for organizing my home. I tend to prefer Ikea and Daiso but we went to The Container Store on a whim and I discovered this lovely storage container! I've been needing… [more]

My First Trip To Japan!

Going to already warn you this is a very picture heavy post. Over 100+ pictures but really not as many as I wish I took. We left LAX at 12:42pm on Tuesday the 20th of March. Only to arrive in Japan 12 hours later Wednesday the 21st of March at 4:30pm. We lost a whole day on the flight but the flight itself wasn’t bad at all.

Lovely blue skys and scattered clouds to guide us there. We flew ANA but operated by United Airlines. The flight was fine, the in flight entertainment was a little outdated. a choice of movies but not on demand. Plus the screen was very small. I however didn’t mind since I spent most of the flight sleeping. I’m one of the lucky few who can sleep on a plane!

Vending machines are pretty cool looking, sadly we didn’t find any used panty vending machines.

We arrived in Narito and took a shuttle service to our hotel; The Grand Pacifc Le Daiba. It was wonderful and we had a stunning view from out hotel! It was chosen since it was so close to Tokyo Big Sight.

Tokyo Big Sight, you see it in anime but it’s much bigger in person.

Signs for TAF; Tokyo International Anime Fair

We went on Thursday which was a business day to get a feel of the convention grounds. Wasn’t as big as we expected.

A few lovely booth babes promoting the new Da Capo III.

Bushiroad with CardFight Vanguard.

Don’t know who this guy was, but courtney and I got cozy with him.

Good Smile Company had a small booth with some figures on display, of course I took pictures! I’d only get insane Black Rock Shooter if she came with this as a base… Otherwise too expensive for my blood.

BRS TV Animation Ver. Very cute!

Nendoroid Inori!!! KYAAA NEED HER!!

GSCs 1/8 Inori also on display. She is simply stunning and I can’t wait to own her myself!

Tony Taka Luka… TONY TAKA LUKA!!!  Again, simply stunning. I forget that she’s 1/7 and seeing her n person she’s sooo big! To all the naysayers out there… YOU’RE CRAZY!! IT’S TONY FRIGGIN TAKA LUKA!! BUY HER!!!

Adorable limited keychains.

The Madoka girls. Tomoe Mami and Miki Sayaka look stunning! Madoka and Homura were already out by the time this picture came out and I already own them. Can’t wait till Sakura comes out too! Then the whole set!!

Cheerful Japan Miku, as lovely as I expected her to be. She’s bigger than I anticipated and totally worth the 10,000 yen price! Can’t wait till I get mine!

Cheerful Japan Gumako, the wait is killing me, I want mine already!

The boyfriend and I in front of the GSC booth for posterity!

It was a small booth but I’m glad I saw it, I bet ACE‘s Booth was bigger, but we only had time for TAF.

Vocaloid 3 cosplayers!

Decided to do some one handed push-ups with this sheep.

On our way to Akiba, at the JR Station in Shimbashi.

Very pretty sights.

Finally at the promised land!

Akihabara, the stuff we Otaku dream of! Admitedly the first day there it felt almost like a let-down. We didn’t find many stores that had hard to find stuff. Mostly shops that only had new stuff and DVDs. But one other days we found some of those small shops that had rare gems.

Akiba was a Paradise and I wish I had more time to see it all!

Inside the Kaiyodo shop, these weren’t for sale, but if they were you bet I would’ve left a kidney or two right there as payment!

Not much Graffiti in Japan, but there were plenty of funny stickers!

Sad gutter is sad…

Took us a while to find the building that Good Smile Cafe was in, finally found it on a rainy day.

Cheerful Japan Rin and Len! So cute, but I passed since they didn’t have much in terms of new items.

Taylor (the boyfriend) got a Miku drink. It was really yummy! Some form or Melon/Lemon Lime Soda with Ice cream! I got the Luka drink which was Pink with ice cream and was Strawberry Milk but the photos were blurry 🙁

Awesome placemat. I thought these were plastic from photos but they are just thick paper. Still i was careful not to make mine dirty and took it home with me!

We all ate lovely Kyubey Curry. It was ok, they gave two of us our food and then didn’t bring utensils until they brought out everyone’s food, so mine was cold by the time I got to eat it. I bet it would have been yummier if it were hot when we ate it.

Back again later to TAF for a public day, more promotional cosplayers.

I found Legit Otaku! These guys were hardcore playing this game! They were awesome and let me take their picture! They rocked!

Milky Holmes Nendoroid

Huge Promotional poster for Lupin the Third. Was so sexy!

Later in the day some idol group performed. We had no idea who they were as we couldn’t figure out how to ask. No Translators was hard…

Some of the girls went to dance on the audience floor, these guys threw themselves at them… Literally!

Gumako Chan! So Cute! I wanted to hug her but thought it might be weird… 🙁

Super Sonico!

Shibuya!

Meguro

Walking to Danny’s Place.

At Danny Choo’s Office. So many cute Girlies!

Yuki is sooo pretty!

Small figure collection, but we all know Danny trims it down to his very favorites!

Mirai is not impressed.

Danny’s Saber, the DD that inspired me to get my own DD. Now I’ll soon have 5 of them! Yoko, Yui, Saber, Nanoha and my own custom Kinomoto Sakura!

At to dinner with Danny. I bought a wig at TAF, just had to wear it out!

We got to know the Daiba station very well as it was right outside out hotel.

Each time we went into Tokyo we got to go through Rainbow bridge, such a pretty sight, I doubt I could ever grow tired of it!

At Asakusa Station, heading to Asakusa.

The new Sky Tree, it’s bigger than Tokyo tower but I do feel that Tokyo Tower is Iconic.

Entering Asakura.

There were a ton of street vendors but so many people, it was impossible to get any shots!

Leaving Asakusa we got a little taste of home.

This train carriage is for women only! No Boys allowed!

Harajuku!

I wonder if The Doctor shop’s here!

Is this the latest trend in Harajuku Fashion?

Harajuku was a huge sea of people!

We got to the Eva store. Taylor (the boyfriend) is a huge Rei fan and we cleaned them out!

Had some yummy yummy Takoyaki! Then back to the Eva Store

We were lucky and they were doing an Eva Racing event. That’s why they had the bike, plus some cute girls!

The crowds when they come out for pictures!

Lovely Engrish everywhere!

Back to Akiba for dinner at a Maid Cafe. Some badass Itasha parked outside!

No pictures allowed in the Maid Cafe. We went to @Home Maid Cafe. I got the omurice and My boyfriend some dish that felt like Spaghetti-os with rice.

The Maid Cafe was fun but expensive. I’m glad we went, but the girls kept hitting on Taylor. I might have to kick some maid butt next time I go.

Ikebukero

Harajuku

And finally back at Narita on our way home. I though that this photo was funny since most Japanese were very polite and considerate of others. But this guy decides to take up 3 Priority seats for himself. In my experience people say how Japanese are racist towards foreigners, I think it’s more of they are so very polity and considerate of others around them that just doing something that for us might be normal is very rude to them. I myself made some mistakes in Japan but once I paid attention to my surroundings I was treated very well. I adored Japan, so many wonderful things. The people were kind, everything was CLEAN! Shopping was fun. The trains weren’t as complicated as they seemed and overall I cannot wait to go back! I don’t think I’ll be jumping the gun to want to move out there, but I would love to make a goal to visit japan at least once a year! Have you gone to Japan? If so what was your favorite thing about it! If not where do you want to visit most?

Don’t forgot about the handmade Anime plushies I’m selling. I’m currently trying to save up to get Dollfie Dream Nanoha! All help is greatly appreciated!

AX Live! Every Thursday at 7pm PST! We’ve been doing Giveaways recently so make sure to check out the show to be able to win some awesome prizes!! Plus every week we give away a 4day badge to the convention for 2012!

Ah… I’ll never forget “Store My Ducks.”

    🙂

  2. Flip says:

Aww you look adorable, looks like you had tons of fun. I need to head back too, once is not enough.

I really want to visit when the cherry blossoms are in bloom but I hear that’s tough to manage.

  3. Esther says:

    Oh man, I gasped out loud at that Nunnally in Wonderland poster;;;
It looks like so much fun!! Wow!! <3 I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and got a great haul 🙂 x

  4. Samufugu says:

Insurmountable jealousy. Every picture I see of Japan shows just how clean and beautiful it is, even in the dense cities. If the beauty alone isn’t enough to visit, then the food definitely would be, for me at least. Looks like you guys had tons of fun, and after that, I don’t think I would know what to do back in the states.

    That Eva jacket rules.

  6. Marc says:

Why was Shaun the Sheep at TAF? That’s a British show!

That is also the largest Anpanman I’ve ever seen!

I would wanna go back to hang around Ueno Park that I passed every day I was there when getting to the train station from the little ryokan I stayed at.

  7. shonensakura says:

that is too kool!!!! how do you get a costom made DD

  8. Mikeyt says:

I’ve been to Japan twice. I actually recognized that pink creature near Harajuku from last year. 🙂 Though, I went outside of Tokyo, and traveled alot of the country.

Next time you go, if you dont want to leave Tokyo, you can manage alot of Day trips with a rail pass. In my two trips, I’ve seen and done so much. I think just being there was my most memorable memory, expically the first time.

The second, I was in Nagano, and a bunch of us woke up early to watch the monks pray. We all got a blessing from them. It was great.

  9. LostGamer76 says:

Thanks for sharing, I’m so jealous. I’m so looking forward to the Inori scale figure, already ordered Luka.

I’m in awe of Japanese culture, I know this is only a tiny fraction of it but it still amazes me.

Is it odd that the picture of bicycles stands out to me? Do they not need to lock them up or do I just not see the locks in the pic?

    • Dancing Queen says:

they lock them up a weird way that doesn’t you you move the wheels, but generally from what we saw many people don’t lock up their bicycles. They are so trusting it’s so strange to me.

  10. Vee says:

I saw the EXACT same person when I was at Harajuku…and this was almost 2 years go!

  11. Banana Furikake says:

Shoot- how things have changed. I’ve been over 20 times but haven’t been over lately. My brother and pretty much all of my extended family live over there so I definitely need to take a trip back.

If you get back there for an extended period- grab a JR rail pass and travel the country. One of the most fun things that you can do.

    Great pictures by the way.
