I have the best parents ever! They gave my my birthday present early last night! Yes it’s 3 months early (December 14th for those of you who might want to know) but who gives a damn i’m so freaking excited!
They got me a camera! I’ve been using my dad’s for a while and his is an older model digital camera and it’s really a pain in the ass.
Really they got me this early for a few reasons, #1 i’ve been helping my mom out as much as possible with my Great Aunt and they are both appreciative of my help.
#2 is that my dad was getting tired of me always borrowing his camera. He likes to take it with him places all the time and sometimes i’m using it so he can’t. That gets on his nerves so he just caved in and got me my own!
The quality of the pictures is just amazing! 12.2 Megapixles, 3 in. screen. Much more stuff but i’m still kinda camera retarded. I’m lucky enough that my dad’s hobby is photography so he owns many cameras and many lenses, and since he likes Canon and my new camera is Canon i can use his lenses too until i start getting my own.
The best thing is that right before they gave it to me i was trying to do another project with my dad’s camera and i was getting frustrated that the pictures weren’t coming out. My parents then called me down to “talk” and i was about to tell them that i hope i get a camera for my birthday since I’m tried of using my dad’s. Then my dad hands be a big box that says Happy Birthday on it.
I don’t think i’ve said “OMG” as many times before as i did at that moment. Oh and just a tease of my newest stop motion.
I’m still trying to figure out which song to make it to, but i’m going to choreograph my own dance to it. There are so many songs that i can think of using but none seem good enough yet.
Really i love my parents! This is just the best thing! Now my dad is excited about having his camera back as well. We might go out tomorrow to the San Diego Wild Animal Park and take pictures together!

Sweet. The IS kit lens is a decent improvement over those for the older Rebels, from what I’ve read.
Stop-frame video already? I’d suggest you get to know the camera some, first, unless your test shots have come out acceptably okay :>

My camera’s pretty good but, I would kind of like to get a new one. The thing that keeps the batteries in broke so, it’s being held together with rubberbands. And then it has a small screen so, I can’t always tell if the pictures are blurry until I load them onto the computer. So, if I take pictures out somewhere, I won’t know that some of them came out blurry until I get home and won’t be able to retake them. T_T

congrats in your new camera. welcome to the DSLR club. ^^;
taking care of a DSLR is totally different from a digital camera. firstly u may want to consider getting a filter to protect the lens. and depending on the climate over at the US, a dry place to prevent the growing of molds. over here it’s very humid so i use a dry cabinet to suck out all the moisture.
