A Woman's Take on Figure Collecting

How a Girl Figures

Max Factory 1/8 Baek Changpo – Review

Another impulse buy here, Now from the first time they announced this figure i didn’t really want her. Nothing about her made me want her, i know nothing of what she was from. I didn’t really like her pose since she looked like she might lean. Plus the colors scheme seemed boring, she just didn’t really feel like a figure I’d buy. Until i saw the Play-Asia sale a while back and was able to get her for super cheap.

But this is another reason I love Impulse buys and figure sales. It helps me give chances to wonderful figures that just didn’t seem all that great at first.

I was expecting as i mentioned a boring figure, something that would end up being filler within my collection, but i was so wrong.

I ended up really liking her, she’s really cute.

She is cast off, but you don’t really see anything.

I am a bit disappointed on her heiney. It’s her focal point really, with this kind of pose she needs a great ass.

it’s a really nice butt compared to most, but they could have done much more really.

She’s got a great face

I just hope she doesn’t lean, she’s attached by two pegs, one in each foot. But they do seem sturdier compared to other pegs.

Love the design on her headphones, at least i think they are headphones.

She’s a figure that really just grew on me after a while. She still seems a bit plain, but then a lot of my older figures seem plain compared to my newer figures. Like most o my impulse buys, i wouldn’t have got her if it weren’t for the sale. Now that’s just me, but if you were ever just on the verge of getting her but wasn’t really sure, then I’d spring for her. She’s really cute and so far doesn’t seem to even show any signs of leaning, but if she does I’ll be sure to post it. Also i noticed there are a million different spellings for her name, Baec Changpo, Pec Champo, and such. I just went with what was written on her box Baek Changpo.

    LOL the same thing happens to me. Some of my older figures start to seem a bit plain in comparison to my newer ones.

    She is lovely isnt she? Ever since I saw her via DC.com I’ve wanted her. Was lucky enough to purchase her earlier on this year. I agree with the heinie thing. Something so prominant on a figure should be more dazzling lol. The headphones are adourable… and I’ve only cast her off once, out of fear of bending her arm too much again… :shudder: I love her face too, so cute. But some say it looks weird… can’t see why myself.

    I can’t believe she was only released in May of this year… seems so long ago…

    I wonder where you get all the money to buy that much figures.

    Do you job a bank on a regular basis ?

    Those figures must be worth a fortune.

    @Blowfish:
    someone on Dannychoo said it would have looked great with a disco ball and now i regret not thinking of that :(

    @phossil:
    looks cool, like she went dancing at a club

    @Lovelyduckie:
    well not that i don’t like my older figures, it’s more of I’ve grown as a figure collector and my tastes have changed, i used to get figures based on characters i liked. But it ended up i’d get mediocre figures but of characters i did like. Now i get figures based on their overall beauty, pose, face, and such. So my collections of newer figures seems prettier than my older figures since my old figures are just characters i like.

    @Meimi132:
    i don’t get why people say her face looks weird, I’ve herd people say that too, but i think it looks cute

    @Mr Jack:
    i work my butt off, i don’t really buy anything else other than gas to get around and go out. the majority of my money goes to figures, i don’t drink, don’t smoke, i eat at home mostly, if i want to go out i tend to go to free places and save money that way.
    plus i’m great at finding figure sales!

    cancelled the pre-order of figurine because of there were too many figurines coming at that time. I may get her later next year when I go to Japan, usually the price will drop :D

    this one comes with stretchy clothes POLO system, but yeah still can’t see anything (main reason cancelled! haha)

    nice background for this one :)

    Her butt seems okay; it’s her boobs that look weird to me in a few of those shots. Particularly this one: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3292/3077092774_f700961742_o.jpg

    Sorry for the late comment,but I just discovered your site. I noticed you don’t know anything about her background. Just wanted to enlighten you a bit :) . Well she’s from an arcade game called Wartech: Senko No Ronde, which was later on ported to the 360. An excellent,yet underrated game. Sort of a mix between a shmup and a fighter.
