I'm a huge fan of Akira, and when I first started collecting figures one of the first figures I got was Alpha's Kaneda. The one of him sitting on the red chair. Ever since I got him I wanted the Tetsuo to match, but haven't had the chance to get him. I spotted him once at a con for $40 which wasn't a… [more]

Kyo-Ani's first step into making anime figures was such a lovely success. When Yuki was first announced I was apprehensive on getting her since Kyo-ani never made any figures before. It seems from their recent releases of K-on figures that this first beautiful release was a fluke since those suck,… [more]
Since I've been selling stuff on Etsy I've been looking around from time to time of items of my favorite characters, when I spotted Yoko on this etsy vendor I knew I had to have it! When I saw they did custom items I also know I had to have a Sailor Moon! Yoko is sooo adorable! You know how much I… [more]
Went to Nisei Week this past Saturday in Little Tokyo. Met up with Benu from Anime-Genesis, Jeremy from Anime Diet and Makenai! Also brought along with me my brother and Kawaii_Clare who dressed us up in Kimonos. Her’s being much better than mine since I didn’t have all the stuff needed for it and it was falling apart by the end of the day.
Here is Makenai with special Guest Jose Sanchez, they performed some amazing songs during the concert!
You can see the entire concert here, It’s worth the watch they really are such an awesome band!
Me with Pamela and Evelyn from Makenai, just two of the sweetest girls you’d ever met.
Benu getting Molested by the girls, Big Pimping there Benu!
My brother DJ Tama as the man the girls wanted but could never get!
Also some awesome Taiko Drumming that we caught before the concert! Love the quality of the video on my camera!
Nisei week was pretty fun, we had taken the train to get there. Never again, I have a car and i’ll be sure to use it! The train itself wasn’t bad, but the people were really terrible, but then we took it from LA to Long Beach and had to go through Compton and the people during those stops were just so terrible. We did take the train since we went to Little Tokyo with a friend who didn’t have a car, but if we can use our car we will for sure!
Didn’t you go on Sunday for the cosplay contest?
nah we just went on Saturday for the concert then left right afterwards
Little Tokyo’s one of the reasons I want to go to California so badly!
The taiko drumming looks awesome. There’s an international festival held in my town every year with food, cultural displays, and musical performances. Last year, there was a taiko drumming performance, but I couldn’t watch it (I could only hear it) because I had to sell food at one of the booths.
Little Tokyo is tons of fun, and apparently i don’t even know of all the fun things to do there!
The only kimono I ever got to put on was a cheap tourist thing at a display in a museum. LOL still loved it though. I tried on a hoop skirt too.
i might get a fancy skirt like that if i get a job soon enough to afford the material for a cosplay
The train just ads to the authentic Japanese experience… except through Compton.
the train was even from japan, but i didn’t take a picture to show my proof
lol…….CPT.
The metro blue line from Long Beach to Vernon Station is pretty ghetto. For some reason it seems the Blue Line may have been built for rival gangs to enter each others territory. My stop is the 103rd street station, since i live a couple of blocks from there. I think that anything from Compton Station to Long Beach is really horrible. From Watts to North towards Downtown L.A. is much more chill.
that’s what i’ve been hearing from most people lately, this was my first time in a train so i didn’t know what to expect really
There’s another performer offstage
who, what, where?
The guy dancing to the side of the stage, back facing the viewers.
