A Woman's Take on Figure Collecting

How a Girl Figures

Alpha X Omega Sheryl Nome

I might have to go out on a limb here, and say while I love all the Yoko figures, and all the figures I’ve gotten up until this point. This Sheryl might just be a new favorite figure of mine. Not only is she just an amazingly made figure, an awesome character from a show I really liked. It’s also a figure in an outfit I just recently cosplayed and loved!

My cosplay from this year’s Anime Expo ’09. I loved this outfit from Sheryl so much that i couldn’t help it and I had to cosplay her! So I have to admit i’m a tad bit biased towards this amazing figure!

This combo between Alter and Megahouse to create Alpha X Omega seems to be slowly becoming a powerhouse withing the figure game. They just keep releasing these amazing quality figures of some of my favorite characters!

Riding crop and all! don’t piss of Sheryl!

I just adore this outfit, it’s just the right amount of sexy without being too flashy!

Now you can barely tell, but if you look between her hair, you can see they even added in her Earring! Such a nice touch!

Now while I did cosplay this outfit, I didn’t cosplay what it turns into as you’ll see it gets a bit naughty from here on out. If you have sensitive eyes to half naked figures I’d turn back now!

You can remove the jacket and pants to reveal a very naughty version that she transforms into during her concert.

I’d want to hit up the gym a little bit more before I attempt to cosplay this version of Sheryl, so for now i’ll stick to keeping my clothes on.

Another reason why I cosplayed Sheryl, we are pretty close in size in the chest department.

Such amazingly short shorts, mine were a tad bigger for my own comfort.

Only anime characters or figures can make Buttcrack look sexy, on a regualr it just looks nasty.

Love the blond to pink transition on her hair. Sheryl’s hair never really stayed the same color throughout the show so it’s hard to decide which version if best/correct.

Very nice detail on the second mic. Maybe i need to repaint my own?

While Sheryl looks amazing in her short shorts and tube top, i personally prefer the blue concert outfit so it’ll rare to see her casted off while displayed here.

While i’ve admitted to being biased towards Sheryl, she truly is an amazing figure that deserves to be in everyone’s collection. That is if you can get your hands on her in time, she’ flying off the shelves like hotcakes! I highly suggest getting your own before it’s too late!

I don’t know, I think you could do the cast off version of the costume…

No, this is NOT me wanting to see more attractive half-naked women on the Internet, not at all….. >.> <.<

    Dancing Queen Reply:

maybe i’ll do it eventually, after some more gym time

Very nice indeed. Thou those short seem to be a bit technically impossible, even with the braces I don’t think they would stay up.

    Dancing Queen Reply:

it would be impossible to hold them up without the suspenders

    I have to wonder.

I always thought Macross was a combat related anime..

    Dancing Queen Reply:

it is but they integrate singing into it, it’s a bit confusing but interesting

I pre-ordered mine a few weeks ago — hopefully mine will show up soon (can’t wait!).

So, what have the figure manufactures done in the mean time to torture me??
How about taking pre-orders for another Sheryl figure:
    http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097989 (better price)
    http://www.hobbyfan.com/product_info.php?products_id=8371 (better pictures)

Maybe a little inappropriate for cosplay, but looks like it will be a nice figure!

    Dancing Queen Reply:

i’ll be getting it for sure

She is really nice. I loved it when figure makers pay attention to those tiny details like her earring you mentioned. It just shows how much effort they made to try to make the figure as accurate and true to the character.

    Dancing Queen Reply:

yes, i was quite surprised to see the earring since it’s pretty hidden in there, they could have skipped it since her hair was covering that part

it’s a good series, not the best concerning Macross itself but it’s a good stand alone series

lol, well my friend helped me (more like made it all) the costume but i just bought the wig like that since it was perfect for Sheryl

I ended up skipping her but I DID order the figure of Miyuki cosplaying as Sheryl :) pretty excited. But wait…does this figure cast off even further? Or does it stop at the black tube top thing?

    Dancing Queen Reply:

it stops at the black tube outfit

    lovelyduckie Reply:

When I went to the pre-order page it said “warning 18 +” so I wrongly assumed she undressed more, I actually like the figure a lot more learning that. I know I shouldn’t be so conservative but I don’t like being able to strip down my girls to the bare skin *blush*. Can still order her at Toyslogic so I may go after her now.

It’s nice to see another great review for the Megahouse Sheryl Nome figure. I’ve got to hand it to the folks that designed her. The sculpt is simply beautiful. It captures the movement of Sheryl as if she were in concert. The only drawback is that a part of her cast off clothing (the upper chest) is a pain in the arse to put back on. The peg system underneath her arm pits make it for a very tight fit. Everything has to be in the right place (at the right time). >__<

    Dancing Queen Reply:

i do have to agree with you there, it is a tight fit but not impossible. but her pose really is just amazing and it does give off the proper movements she’d be making while dancing for her concert
