GSC – Saber Lily ~Distant Avalon~

Oh man have I been busy! With a new job, boyfriend, hanging with friends and getting things in my personal life together I feel i’ve been neglecting my site just a tad. Also with my serious lack of funds as of late it’s been hard to keep up with the latest figures. But luckily I didn’t have to pass up on the wonderful Saber Lily.

I’m not even the biggest fan of the game/anime but I do love Saber’s character design and this version of Saber was impossible to pass up!

Such a lovely kickass face!

I do believe she’s the only figure i have that is scowling but still exudes such beauty!

Knowing Good Smile Company, they’ll be smart and release a special limited edition of Saber Lily with a smiling face! It would be hard to pass that up!

Letting my pictures speak for themselves on this post. It’s a little late tonight and while she is such an amazing figure that i could go on and on about but really why gush so much about her when honestly I do believe these pictures speak for themselves! Her pose is stunning, her face is awesome, her paint is flawless. Nothing but perfection from GSC as always. The wait has been long, but it was well worth it for this amazing pvc goddess!

Ah, Saber Lily, beloved of the figure collecting masses. It’s interesting that there are bootlegs, but given the popularity I suppose that is to be expected. Is this a limited run?

    Dancing Queen Reply:

Not a limited run to my knowledge and there are bootlegs because she’s so popular!!

It’s a beautiful figure ^^ I love dynanamis and sculpture details. Her expression is great too. And your pictures, very nice ! I love your background. Congratulation :)

    Dancing Queen Reply:

Thanks, I wanted to something a bit more dramatic but I felt anything would take away from her beauty

Have you tried to remove Saber’s breastplate? I don’t have the links available to me at the moment, but I’ve seen others do so. Personally my Sabers breastplate doesn’t appear to be removable. It jiggles a bit but I don’t want to break her.

I think my only complaint about Saber is how much space she takes up in my cabinet, a whole shelf all to herself. And while she deserves it, I don’t have the space!

i haven’t seen her with the breastplate removed, but mine is stuck right in there and i as well am too scared to try and remove it

Well, it’s the only new figure in a long time but this one looks really good (and her patsu too ^^).
The metal armor and the base are impressive and her serious face gives to Saber a great aura.
    Congrats!

    Dancing Queen Reply:

i do love her base, it’s such a dynamic interesting base

    Dancing Queen Reply:

lol, sorry about that… Even with my job it’s been tough, hours suck ad the bills piled on high when i was jobless. Expect a little less bitching that before but i’ll always be bitching about soemthing ^_~

words can barely discribe how beautiful this figure is.

Btw how do u tell the difference between a real and a bootleg edition?
I live in Singapore and have found one in a mall that costs SG$219.
and am saving money for that now. expecting to get it in a few days time.

    Dancing Queen Reply:

here is a post that has images from GSC site that explains the bootleg warning http://wcloudxkumo.wordpress.com/2009/09/28/beware-of-the-fake-lily/

Nice review. With this I am interested to see what differences there are between the Alter release and the Good Smile one. Both companies I like. When my Saber Lilly comes in I will have to take photos and send to you so you can try to compare. ^^ Looking forward to your next review.

I love that she is frowning in this figure. I’d probably only go for a smiling one of her if it was a confident smirk. But a smile like that is probably out of character for her.

    Dancing Queen Reply:

it works really well for this figure overall

I’m so glad to have her in my collection. She’s a beauty. I looooove Saber, she’s awesome. I think her non-smiling face is more like her. A too happy Saber wouldn’t do the trick.

    Dancing Queen Reply:

    it would be too awkward

That Saber looks really cool. While I’m not a big fan of PVC figures, I have some, a Saber among them, that is wearing her normal clothes and two swords. It looks nice, but not as kick-ass as this one.

    Dancing Queen Reply:

This really is one Saber that any fan of saber MUST own!
